I've been playing MWO for a few days now but I continuously encounter this problem at random times. My game will work fine, but sometimes it will either crash or when I log back on I'll have to do a 2.4GB patch, once I do this I click play and I get version mismatch. I then have to download 9 different version of MWO to get it working again.

This has been happening very frequently for me somtimes 2/3 times a day which can get a little tedious. My friend is trying to join MWO but he keeps geting the version mismatch without the ability to install the extra patches. We have both tried the repair tool but this hasn't helped at all.

Any ideas what we can do?

It sounds like you are using the client to patch. You would be better off using the patcher. Next time mwo client wants you to patch. Kill the client and launch the MWO patcher instead. You should kill the client when you are done playing anyway to let the client rebuild files that it might need.

Ahh I didn't even realise that I could patch another way other than the client. I'll have to try and find the patcher to see if this helps us. You may have just made two gamers very happy =].

You may also want to try running the repair tool to see if they patch messed some files up. Sorry, I don't have a link handy, but just search "repair tool" in forums. I tend to find that it helps to run this after every patch.

Good luck with resolution and welcome aboard!
