There's a new sci-fi based Panzer General like game up on Kickstarter for those that are fan's of that style of hexed based strategy. It will be playable on at least PC and Android to start, and have cross platform multiplayer.

Yeah, it's from Kerberos, the guys who did Sword of the Stars I and II. Their last kickstarter (on Indiegogo) was for The Pit, a sci-fi roguelike based on the same universe.
From playing Sword of the Stars I and II, the universe is really fleshed out and deep, their aliens aren't just 'this is the hivemind species', 'humans are the standard' type of stuff, but they are actually very believeable and interesting. Their writer (even though they are a small team, they have an exclusive writer) is quite good with handling all the lore, and one of the perks is an Illustrated Lore Book, which from the previews is going to be awesome.
Also, it's always nice to see a game for mobile devices that isn't anchored on microtransactions. Plus turn-based tactics, plus assinchronous gameplay. I'm really looking forward to it.

I'd recommend you guys, ("yes, you guys reading this thread") to play the alpha demo, it has a panzer commander vibe that I haven't seen in a looooong time.

The devs have just updated the kickstarter page, there is now an android demo available!
You can try it at: https://play.google....com.kerberos.gp
Remember, this is not one of those 'in a year or two' kickstarter, the devs are really close to completing the game, which has it's release scheduled to december!

Careful, PGI is so nice and kind to us that you aren't even allowed to mention certain other mech games without getting banned.

Ground Pounders is not a mech game, I don't know where did you get that idea.
