So which mech do people think is the most popular and why?

I've only included options where the mechs are consistently common. Not random Raven wolfpacks or Centurian wolfpacks or etc. I'm talking mechs where I can near consistently call out what 1/2 of each team will include (those 6 mechs consistently make up 50%+ of a team, often making up 8 or 9 of the mechs.

Personally I think the Cataphract is the most popular mech because it's the most versatile. It might lack high weapon placement, but it can do any weapon set in the game. Dual LBX10? Cataphracts got it. 3x AC5? Cataphract. 4x AC2? Cataphract. 3x PPC? Jager! 2x PPC + Gauss? Cataphract! The only thing the cataphract CAN'T do is boat missiles, and that's not even popular right now.

The cataphract also has a perfect ratio of speed to size to damage. At 70 tons it's not easy to kill, and can still bring in Assault class weapon sets, while moving 64.8 easy.

I've purchased a seismic sensor, 3 Jagermechs, and a 7 mil Cicada over the last week and a half so I can definitely say I've been putting some time into the game. I've seen more Highlanders and Jagermechs than anything else since I got started down this path. The Jagermech is just the most dangerous and straightforward heavy in the game with every model capable of equipping double Gauss and two models capable of 4x AC5. The Highlanders I've seen can all poptart and hold a Gauss rifles with 2 ERPPCs. I anticipate we'll see a lot more K2 Catapults and Jagermechs coming out of the woodwork over the next two weeks now that the sniping capabilities of the Gauss rifle have been increased and its syngery with PPCs has been decreased.

I'd love to see the numbers on this.
How many spiders have been bought.
How many awesomes have been sold.
What mech has the most xp.
Which one has done the most damage
Which one has been killed most often.

I'm not asking for a breakdown by variants or how many mechs were bought with mc. But I'd like to know the K/D, W/L average of mechs

I do believe I see more Jagers out there than anythinging else. I think every match is guaranteed to have two per team.

Cataphracts can pick 3xGauss and 3xLBX (which is my way of playing, and I choose it).
Jagermechs can pick 2xAC20, 4xUAC, and 6xAC2 (which is my way of playing too, and more mechs are avaible to be played in that manner)
Light and Medium mechs have never been too popular (weapon limitations mostly);
Catapults can be armed with 6xSSRM2 at high movement speed or 6xLRMs, which is very powerful, and I am going to do that soon as well;
Highlander is very-very versatile, especially Heavy Metal.
Victor: I have no idea, but it seems to be a copy of Highlander to me.

Overall: I meet Jagermechs more, then Cataphracts, Catapults, Highlanders, and Victors (the least).

From your list it has to be the Cataphract. But for me it will always be the Atlas, unless we get the Omega!
