Yay my install become afflicted by this problem after the Sept 3rd patch.

I see a number of players affected by the same or similar problem and no response from developers on previous posts? Whats up with that?

For myself - the launcher did not initialize the patcher and when launching the game "Version mismatch" message appears. Logs reported everything was OK but not so...

The steps that got me results... (cutting a long story short)

1. Ran the repair tool to update the game files (this can be found pinned on the forum)

Result - on running the laucher (many times) it now wanted to patch 2.6gb.... (the entire game wtf)

2. I copied the games files from original install path C:\Games\Piranha Games to C:\Program Files\Piranha Games

3. I then tried running the game (many times) from C:\Program Files\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MechWarriorOnline.exe

Result - please download 2.6gb patch etc.

4. I then tried running the game from C:\Program Files\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\BootstrapSentinel.exe

Result - IT WORKED I HAVE NO IDEA WHY (ANYONE??)

5. Following this I ran it again from the original install location C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MechWarriorOnline.exe OR desktop icon

Result - IT NOW WORKS AGAIN I HAVE NO IDEA?

Sorry for the vagueness of the solution but it worked and at the end of the day that's whats important right? Perhaps someone from PGI could shed light? My suspicion is the bootstrapsentinel.exe had something to do with it but I have no clue why (disclaimer).

I hope this helps someone else. Perhaps someone more int he know could refine this process for us? That is all.

Well ive the same problem now bud since the patch, ive uninstalled reinstalled, used the repair tool and reinstalled to a new folder. Result is that it works when it wants to or it just patches and dies.
yes i know the game is in beta but, shouldnt that mean the devs respond to problems, so far ive not seen one responce to this problem and there is a lot of posts.

31 of october, did DL latest patch, tried to run the game, got the version mismatch error. re-DL the installer now re-installing the game.
