Just out of curiousity do these Ilya and Firebrands come with any sort of extended warranty? You should really try to make some money on the back-end of these deals. Much easier than dealing with the Lemon Laws once you nerf UAC5.
For an extra 300MC a month you garuntee that their shiny new mech is exempt from UAC5 nerfs. What am I thinking of course you thought of that.
Great job guys, excuse me, I need to wash my hands now, do you have any steel wool?
Any chance you will announce the next Hero mech early so I can get a sneak peak of the upcomming weapon buffs.

Pretty rare to see an ilya NOT running triple UAC5s, though firebrands are generally 2x UAC5 or AC40.
Here's hoping no one else discovers the wonder of 6x chain-fired smplas and gets them nerfed next. Oh whoops.

No, i'm sure the sales/marketing guy and the Weapon Balance guy were just on vacation, and it is all just a big coincidence like the Heavy Metal and Dragon Slayer releases in-line with PPC buffs.

I own a Firebard (from a while ago) and i refuse to mount UAC/5's until the nerf happens because I don't want my gameplay to adjust to something that is going to change.
Anyways... anyone who purchased them just to use an OP weapon on the nerf list is stupid and I have no sympathy... however they are nice mechs so even if someone purchased them for that reason they will still have a nice mech.

well.... no.
i bought the Firebrand when it was released, and it never saw a UAC. i nearly tried every build with it, but never jumped onto the UAC-train.
I found this as the most valuable setup for me, and it performs realy nice... top damage i ever did with this is +1000. Peacemaker
but to be honest, i jumped onto the train with my ilya... with the upcoming nerf to UACs, i will probably have to find something else.

I do well with 2xUAC05 but honestly my best builds are:
2xAC02 & 4 Med lasers - had a run of 4 games in a row over 750+ damage and 3-4+ kills each game and people bitching to me about how overpowered UAC was from their grave... seriously Im using AC02!
1xAC20 & 4 med lasers - had some massive games with this build, 1075 damage 6 kills 5 assists one game
1xAC20 & 1x LB10xac - I don't know why but I seem to do well with this build
what I generally find is that 2xAC02 or AC02 + AC05 is like an AC05 that doesn't jam. I'm using UAC05 less and less.
what may be awesome though is mechs that can fit 3 UAC05 JM DD JM S? Iyla I dont currently have any of those mechs, your less likely to have all 3 jammed at once. two is much better than one, I bet 3 is uber, just 1 can be more of a hindrance than a help at times as you can get REALLY bad runs of jamming that make you a paperweight.
I had one post buff run that was
1 shot, jam, 1 shot, Jam, 1 shot, jam, 2 shots, jam, 3 shots, jam, 2 shots, jam <dead>
tell me that's overpowered.
I'm not sure what to think about UAC, when it works its uber, when it jams a lot it sucks - kinda what its supposed to be?

What's with all the whining about UAC/5s? I've been away for a while, has something changed? I know the Gauss got borked, but what's up with AC/5s? Did they get nerfed too?

while I get the gist of this (afterall, was talking this same thing last night, great marketing, whether you agree with it or not)/
The thing about it? Even without Monster broken UACs, the Firebrand and Ilya are still hands down, the best Hero Mechs in the game. And if people can't be bothered to keep track of the forums and such and see the writing on the wall, well buyer beware.
That said, since both mechs will be eminently not just viable, but GREAT with multiple other builds even after the UAC nerf (and possibly WITH UACs still, depending on how PGI handles it. My Money is on either jam rate returning to 25% (was quite livable with it at this, though not god mode like now. Single UACs will be useless though) or Ghost Heat (which will still leave balanced non cheese UAC builds quite good, but reign in triple UAC nonsense), I gotta think you are kinda overreacting. I think you may have been hanging out with Squirtbox and the negativity brigade just a little too much lately, bro. Or maybe I'm just a naive White Knight.

tell me that's overpowered.
when you hold down the trigger, i don't think UACs are overpowered. the risk of jamming is given, and when they jam, it cuts your DPS to the ground.
the problem grows, when you don't double-fire them, i.e. when you only fire after the cooldown. if you use a macro for avoiding the double-tap, you will put out 3 bullets for a total of 15 damage every 1.1 seconds. that's 13,63 damage per second, without any risk of jamming.
that is even slightly more than a CTF-4X with 4(!) AC5s, this will put out 4 bullets for a total of 20 damage every 1.5 seconds. makes 13,33 DPS per second, and you don't have to use a macro for this.
if you take the "fast shot" tweak into this calculation, you will come out with 14.35 DPS for 3 UACs and 14.04 for 4 AC5s.
an atlas' max front armor is 124 points (if you completely strip your back)... with 14.35 DPS you will need 8.64 seconds to core him... and nobody strips his back completely.
only drawback to the high-alpha-builds is, that you have to keep your look at the target... but if you use a macro for firing the 3 UACs or 4 AC5s, you will get a constant flow of dakka, so that the enemy won't see anything while you shoot his front

Hey man.
Well, multiple things converged.
A few patches back, UAC jam rate was reduced to 15% from 25%. Hugely useful for making UACs much more viable in single and double UAC builds. Allows for massively OP firepower though when tripled. Literally able to shred a fresh Atlas in under 5 seconds. Insane.
Thing is it was nto really noticed untilt eh PPC/Gauss Nerf hit. Why? Because of course the FotM "Competitive" crowd was still Metaraping the pinpoint high alpha PPC/Gauss builds, and so weren't' running Ilya's or Jagers with the UACs. And these UAC mechs were still getting insta-cored from across the map.
Well, Tuesday, the Snipetards got the rug pulled out from under them. You now need skill and tactics to snipe successfully, instead of just nonstop PPC/Gauss spam. Heat means picking your shots, and the Gauss Charge means the same thing. And of course, syncing the hits are pretty tough now. (I'm sure some comp players are timing the shots and setting macros to try to compensate though). So of course, this being online gaming, it was a simple migration to the new Metarape, FotM. The Triple UAC/Jager.
*Shrugs*
I really could care less if people who just run from one exploit to another get fleeced, TBH. Once the UACs get (mildly) reigned in, the weapon balance is actually phenomenal now overall, with just a few things needing addressing in the weapons themselves (UACS, Large Pulse and Flamers), so I think despite all the QQ, the game is actually starting to finally come together for balanced play. Of course, this being PGI, they could completely blow it all up an dleave me scratching my head again come Tuesday, lol.

I don't think thats what they had in mind......but I DO BELEIVE IT OUGHT TO BE. They should throw a SPIDER sale to capitalize on the famed "spider hitbox". Maybe even thow a spider hero out there......I bet theres tons of people who would want the notorious 6mg spider. I seriously doubt it would take even a week to make a spider hero....
Hold off the "spider fix" till november....
Ship out 6mg spider hero/locust hero/locust and revert the recent MG nerf. Nothing wrong with this in my opinion......and starting a "fire" here might be better. Its prob better to have multiple FLAVORS of the month then just one.
We gonna see JAGERS Vs SPIDERS......... Jagers mounted with UAC/ 5z and machine guns.........vs Spiders with 6mg and a crazy hitbox.......
It sounds cheesy....but its funny too. This could be a very memorable moment........it will be like explaining to noobs years from now........about the clone wars....where they had jagers and spiders......
Then look right in the middle of the month......Release a RAVEN 3L hero......with a SPECIAL ECM thats potent as old school ecm thats wasn't blockable..... Ecm that can't be blocked..... and "misplace" the hit registration for them.
We switch to a new model game balance called........The Balance of Chaos. Where balance becomes permanent in the game BECAUSE its expected to randomly be chaotic.........so there really is forcasts of when PPCs will be in a nerf season ect. Flamers could be weapon of the month...... Make it understood these things are always in FLUX.........so you can't "TRULY" complain about ANY weapon.
