Edit: I realized I made a mistake - one out of every three mechbays cannot be used freely, and must be used to the hero mech variants, which cannot be sold. The other non-hero variants, which make up two-thirds of every package, can be sold at will, and thus they can be used for other mechs. I adjusted the values accordingly.

So I did some math to help me deliberate if I should purchase any of the Project Phoenix packages, and which ones I should get it I were to buy one. Here's the math, if anybody is interested. I'm making this a new topic instead of posting it in the threads dedicated to it because it would just be buried there.

So, to start off, I'm translating the value of the packs from the most popular MechCredit package, which is 6,500 MC for $29.95 USD. Under this, 217.03 MechCredits is worth $1 (6,500 / 29.95 = 217.03)

A mechbay is worth $1.38 (300 / 217.03 = 1.38).
A medallion is worth $2.30 (500/217.03 = 2.30)
30 Days premium time is (if the thread I found to check the values is still up to date) worth $11.52 (2,500 / 217.03 = 11.52)
Since there are no 90 Day Premium Time packages, I simply used multiple 30-day packages in its stead.

________________________________________________________
Talon Package - $20

Two free;y usable mechbays = $2.76
20 - 2.76 = $17.24 for the three Locust variants and the mechbay to house the hero variant
________________________________________________________
Storm Package - $40

Four freely usable mechbays = $5.52
One medallion = $2.30
40 - 5.52 - 2.30 = $32.18 total for all six mechs and the two mechbays for the two hero variants
________________________________________________________
Guardian Package - $60

Six freely usable mechbays = $8.28
Two medallions = $4.60
30 Days Premium Time = $11.52
60 - 8.28 - 4.6 - 11.52 = $35.6 for all nine mechs and the mechbays for the three hero variants.
________________________________________________________
Overlord Package - $80

Eight mechbays = $11.04
Four medallions = $9.20
Ninety days Premium Time = $34.56
80 - 11.04 - 9.2 - 34.56 = $25.20 being spent on the twelve different mechs and the mechbays for the four hero variants
________________________________________________________
Saber Reinforcement package - $30

Four mechbays = $5.52
30 - 8.28 = $24.48 for three variants of the Wolverine and three variants of the Griffin and the mechbays for the hero variants
________________________________________________________

It should be noted that the values of the mechs in the Overlord package are slightly rounded up because there is no 90 Day premium time purchase. You can also sell any of the non-hero variants of the mechs for C-Bills while keeping the mechbay it came in. It should also be noted that there is an intangible value among all but the Talon packages - early access. Anybody who buys the Phoenix package of any tier will receive their mechs on October 15th, yet only the Locust will be available to those who didn't purchase it on October 15th.

I've done enough math here that if you are purchasing MechCredits with another form of currency, you can use the same formulas. If your currency is being exchanged into USD to make the purchase, you can use exchange the value for each digital item display with your currency. Example: 1 USD = .76 Euro. A mechbay in USD is $1.38, so $1.38 * .76 = 1.05 Euro.

Lastly, I just wanted to remind everybody to remember that they have to decide whether or not they're willing to spend a certain amount of money on Mechwarrior Online before looking at these values. These values run on the 6,500 MC for $29.95 exchange rate, but you have to decide whether you want to upgrade to a certain package if the package doesn't wholly interest you. Personally, I'm teetering between the Storm package and the Guardian package. The Battlemaster doesn't interest me, and I don't think I'm willing to spend money on Premium Time. The Saber pack doesn't entice me either, as I'm sure I'd find the Griffin a poor fit for me, and I'd rather wait to buy a Wolverine with C-Bills instead of spending over twenty dollars on it. The values are here to aid your judgment, not to tell you which package is the "correct" package to purchase.

Hope this helped one of you out. Happy gaming.

Nicely done. Although I already dropped my cash on this stuff, it's nice to see what I'm paying for.

If you want to spend money on the game, then overlord is an excellent value for money.
Its handy that you have all the mechs needed to master a chassis, plus a 30%bonus on c-bills for the 4hero variants..
This allows you to ease the grinding...

I bought it :-)

Don't the Phoenix mechs also get a 10% Loyalty bonus (which no other mechs have thus far) this was something that could be useful (or not? what is faction war?), well it was a calculated investment on my part. Overall seems good value considering all the mech bays, premium time and Hero mechs (which I don't have atm).

Thanks a lot for posting these figures. They're really useful for helping me decide whether or not I want to consider putting any hard-earned cash towards this.

Here is another break down for those interested:

$80 for:
12 Mechs (3 are limited edition with faction boost)
4 Faction Badges
120 days of premium time
Limited Edition Camo Pattern
12 Mech Bays
Advanced access to all 12 mechs before everyone else.
Extra hanging do-hickey if you're already a founder

Lets do some math:
12 mech bays = 3600 MC
4 hero mechs @ 75MC/ton = 16875 MC
4 Custom camo patterns @ 750MC = 3000 MC
4 Faction Medallions @ est. 1000MC = 4000 MC (based on non-bonus faction medallions of 750 MC each)
120 days of premium time = 10000 MC

Total MC: 37475

With founders hanging thing: 38225

Total cost of MC if you could buy this: >$150.

This isn't including things with no value, like 100% unique phoenix mechs (no, they aren't just "variants" but have unique geometry) forum badges, etc etc.

Also, the phoenix mechs may cost more than the standard 75 MC per ton for hero mechs, as they have the bonus 10% faction. If faction ends up being extremely important and hard to get, then that 10% will be highly sought after in CW.
