Sooo..... How is this a launch then? I don't get it. At all. Seems to me like it's still beta, just without the beta-excuse for stuff going wrong.

very disappointing...with respect, PGI should be embarrassed to be "launching" with nothing. I'll say that again, they should be embarrassed. Not a class act.

Well shhitt happens in the MWO/World of mechs scenario or shall we call it the merry go round of mechs. For a free game MWO is alright but for a paying game it sucks again today I tried to fall back in love with MWO logged on fired up my 2 mechs I own and was once again disappointed in the gameplay and each battle was little more than a quick death and a team pug stomp. But then again I don't think there are many founders or old teams still playing. After another hour of no meta and grind till you drop I gave up and spent the rest of the day playing HAWKEN its not a great mech game but it was fun enough to keep me playing through the day. Only way ill even pay for this game would be a lot of major changes to the game= Better game modes better mech movement joystick support and some CW and private matches and leagues. Posted Image

I expected PGI to disappoint a little, maybe "medium"...but this is hardcore. I bet this wasn't actually easy, it took some hard decisions and a serious amount of bad work. ^^

A Cookie Apology

Posted Image

We originally intended to use flour, but as we were in the process of making cookies we realized that some people prefer gluten free snacks so we whipped up a batch and when we were nearly done we realized that although we did not meet our design goal of making a good cookie 100% we decided that it would be silly to split the community over such a small thing and now all the cookies are gluten free.

We know this will upset some people but honestly it is because we care too much (also vacation!). Perhaps when we get a month or data we can decide if a separate cookie is needed for people who want to enjoy their snacks (but these will not be included at launch).

EDIT: Paragraphs... :) (wall of text is terrible formatting)

Account resets. That'll make people happy.
Everything you worked for? Meh. It was for nothing.

I actually can make a damn good batch of gluten free cookies. You'd never miss the gluten.

yea... don't know why people keep bringing it up like it would be a good thing... they haven't done stat resets since open beta started, and they (most likely) aren't going to again... at least that's what was said...

According to Bryan, "launch is a line in the sand" Which mean basically that "we can't use the beta crutch anymore" This game has been "launched" since open beta. On Oct 17 we get our 1st Expansion pack with the delivery of our Phoenix project. Followed in November (Hopefully) with expansion pack 1, service pack 1 UI 2.0 and CW phase I. Sadly, all launch means is that the developer/publisher believe the game is stable and playable enough that they don't have to call it a beta. Still, a big let down.

Love it!

LAUGHING OUT LOUD at launch that adds....something that is already in the game...and nothing else.

FABULOUS! WOW WHAT A PARTY THAT'S GOING TO BE!!! LOL!

Hope they have enough shwag to make up for the massive disappointment. Hope they do it on a LAN, that way they will get matches at least...and not be crushed to death by reviewers picking apart the lack of basic features.

I'm so happy that i didn't bought the phoenix package. This game is not launch ready this **** is still early beta.2 pathetic game modes,no CW,no DX11,no UI 2.0 no nothing but i guess the new "give us money for mechs that you gonna get half a year later package" is coming real soon to milk the remaining fans even more.As the guy above me said, this game will be eaten alive by reviewers and metacritic.

GG no re.

Half of me is like "Awrgh, there's nothing special about launch day, it's just another patch day with a party in California!"

Then half of me is like "If everything but one of those things had made it into the game, there still would've been half a dozen rage threads about the one missing feature."

I'd have some sympathy with that point of view if the game was ANYTHING like what was promised for launch. What we have here is a game that's just got the basic core gameplay mostly working. It's ready for open Beta, IMO.

How the heck do you release a game with such a crappy UI, and WITHOUT support for units and CW? I mean, I fully expect their CW design to suck, but c'mon! They have until SC dogfight module release to show me that their vision for this game isn't completely awful.

C;mon! The tactical quality of this game has dropped into the crapped since the boogeyman... I mean premades were nerfed. Every game turns into a *********** of epic proportions. Sometimes you're on the receiving end, sometimes on the giving, but "good" games are freakin' rare. The only thing nerfing premades did is lower the overall quality of the game and make pugs feel better. Oh yeah, and destroy units as a source of recruitment for the game, cause the 12 v 12s absolutely suck.
