Heat generated increased by 200%
You have a fuel meter that runs out after 4 minutes - but you can eject and fight on foot, even with a knife or throwing axe
Only weapon on your Mech is a flamer
Only 1 hardpoint on each Mech
Instead of killing the opponents mech, the object is to melt or scalpel the enemy pilot and rejoice in his dying screams
If you kill an enemy pilot you can steal mead and bacon supplies from them to increase your battle frenzy
Once you die in the game, you die in real life.

Hardcore mode:
As you start out, after playing on trials, you buy your first mech, and must buy others, repairing and rearming, and if your mech is destroyed, it is for good, you will need to buy another. Like Blizzard's hardcore mode in their games.
I still remember the cries at lost characters due to lag in Blizz forums.

Actually, upon destruction of your mech, the mech is deleted from your mechbay. If you die to a head-shot, the game deinstalls itself since you're dead.
No, in reality it's nothing at all but a hint at a broken promise. The buttons don't do anything and probably never will.

Back in the Days of glorious HUD bugs, Harcore mode was no HUD whatsoever. Your only chance to aim was bringing a TAG or firing your lazorz.
Man, those days...
Oh, and there was "hardcore light", where you would have a HUD, but everything would be labeled with WWWWWW - this became the running joke in pregame chat. if you ever see one chatting WWWWW it refers to the HUD bugs.
I hope we'll see this hardcore mode again (not the WWW, the no/reduced HUD).
