Since everyone is focused on the "big" issues the game currently has, few people ever mention the smaller things that overall improve the experience greatly. Here are some that come to mind.
- Sound whenever you click a menu button
So simple and yet it slightly makes up for the game's completely silent menu. You can even get some of the older mechwarriors' sound effects so as to take advantage of nostalgia.
- Make it so you can hold backspace to delete text faster
Seriously, why do I have to keep tapping the button? Make it like it is in ALL other games.
- Make the "Tutorials" button create a window instead of taking you straight to the tutorial
In that window you will have the option "Movement tutorial" as well as the other tutorials greyed out so that players will know that the tutorial will just teach them how to move and that more tutorials are being developed
- Add a message explaining the concept of heat scale during map loading
This may already be in the game since loading messages are random but I do not recall ever seeing such a message.
- In each weapon's stats add the speed of the weapon
Yes, I know the UI is being completely overhauled and making changes to the current one is pointless but until it is done, we should be able to see the speed each weapon travels. My experience with programming is limited but it doesn't seem it will take more than 20 minutes.
- Add an image of a person near the text in the tutorial
This will make it seem like an instructor is teaching you how to pilot your mech. Maybe even slightly change the text so it would be roleplay. I believe that this would greatly improve the immersion.
May post some more later on.
