No, seriously... this is your tutorial?

This is what's going to help noobs in this game?

A tutorial that doesn't even take you into the cockpit but to say "hey, if you press f4 you can go into cockpit view." then immediately takes you back out?

A tutorial that amounts to "Look up, GOOD JOB!"

A tutorial that literally covers everything a person who's been playing PC games for a week could figure out?

It's one thing to have a basic movement tutorial, it's quite another to make the player feel like they're stupid and not even explain things in a proper way.

The movement tutorial should go over ALL aspects of movement, in both throttle modes, it should teach these basics in both the 1st and 3rd person perspectives [since you're not going to get rid of 3rd person, but that's an entire other complaint] It should also cover linked arms, and free reticle modes.

And it should give the basics of combat movement, including keeping your weapons focused on a target while circling around, moving laterally, jumping over, ect.

Instead you get a "look up, look down, move forward, move backwards, good job, here's a star." mentality.

You can't even make a proper tutorial, where the groundwork has been laid out for you over literally 8 different games [mechwarrior 2,3,4, and expansions each had a tutorial]

Why should we be supporting this product again?

Sorry, it's so obvious that this post is made without any "goodwill" to the developers and therefore a consequence of the last patch-trouble. I really would remove posts like this because they are killing every community spirit. It's really a shame to read something like this. I hate removing posts inside my own forum but this here leads to a useless war of attrition without any winners.

It's possible to make improvement suggestions without any insult of the developers. I know it, I have tried it before.

Just for information... Jade made some good points. I like this tutorial but if you have played MWO just a few time before playing the tutorial, it's nearly obsolete. But I cannot empathize with a complete newbie so I guess you guys have your reasons for this.

Jade makes some good points; a bit vitriolic, but also accurate. There are certain expectations with modern games and, considering when "launch date" is, you're missing the mark by a considerable margin. I get that it's beta; but unless there is some kick-*** reveal about to take place, the overall user experience is monotonous and boring. Also, when I tried a tutorial run, the background sky above the mountains rendered electric blue and purple - cool, but probably a bug.
