For Pity's sake FIX base capture on Assault mode!!!

I understand why it exists, it stops a single mech from hiding and forcing a tie situation and allows a winning team to finish off a match, or alternatively can be used to distract some of an enemy team, but currently it is destroying the entire concept of Assault.

I have just played three games in a row, and it is becoming far more common for entire Assault rounds to finish without a single shot being fired.

This game is becoming a race to the flag not a combat match!

Base capture should not be possible until half the Mechs in the game have been neutralized, it should be a FINAL move, not the goal of a match.

This mode is barely playable at the moment because people either don't realize or don't care that they get little to no score for a rush to the flag, they just do it anyway.

Can you please just balance that mechanic so it cannot be used until at least a reasonable portion of Mechs in the game have been destroyed so Assault can be entertaining rather than a pointless exercise in frustration?

Caps are so slow now that you can go back in atlas to defent your base. So i dont see how can single capper ruin your game. I think your team ruined your game couse they/you didnt fall back so you can defend your base...

^agreed. You can only 'ninja' cap i.e. cap before enemy can react by piling 4-6 mechs onto the base all at once.

If you dont notice HALF THE TEAM sneak by you, thats a failing on your teams ability to scout. It also happens when your team does scout, but people dont want to go back to defend it "incase we get shot at" which happens about as often, again a failing on the losing teams side.

Sometimes you just have to throw yourself on the grenade and take one for the team. unfortunately most people have realised thats a wasted effort if the rest of the team dont follow through, so not many are willing to do it.

you can't just rely on 1-2 light mechs to fall back and stop a cap now, they often require heavier support. If you notice the base cap is falling fast, you need a good force to knock them off, sometimes that does require heavy/assault mechs. (just dont everyone abandon your assaults on the front line).

You know how to solve this problem? If you're an Assault mech, march into the center of the map and take most of the army with you. When both armies meet, if there even is a ninja-capper you'll have forces close enough to deal with him while still being able to fight.

The only time ninja cappers really succeed is when you have a bunch of cowards piloting your Assaults who'd rather flank than brawl.

This is directed at all of you coward Assault pilots... If you're in an Assault, your job is to create the front-line, not hide behind Lights and Mediums.

As for all you brave Assault pilots, I salute you for your courage and leadership. I will follow you to victory or death. Either way, it will be glorious.
