I thought about it, and even if you lose and contribute nothing, you get a base amount of xp and cbills. Anything over a non-zero number is bad.
once the game goes 'live', this will become a much larger problem, I have seen it in other games.
"Why should i waste all that time fighting one game? When I can log into 2/3/4/5 games at a time and get a steady large amount?"
The way to fix it is easy. If you do zero damage, you only get xp or cbills if you are still logged into that game when it ends. if you dc you get nothing.
Second - when you dc you need to be able to get back into a game - it is strange this is not a feature.
Games are only a max 15 min anyway - there should be a limit of like...2 games you can have a mech in anyway. That way the rewards for farming by dc should be worse than actually playing.
And last - track player dc as a stat. if it is over a very small number then they should quickly start getting banned. Specifically dc within the first minute of the game, and before you are killed. After being killed is a different story. But if you dc 2 seconds into a match - that sounds like farming and it screws over the other 11 players.
"but maybe he/she has a bad connection" - that reason only works for a couple dcs. Especially if you can log back in after(thats getting added right?) If a player really has such a bad connection that they dc 1 out of every 2 games - then they should not be playing group online games. I hae seen that in other games and people again basically screw over the team they get placed with because they cant contribute - but take up a slot because they are 'trying'.
If you cant connect - play offline games.
