Okay lets look at the UAC5 compared to the AC5:

Fires slower, with less range, 1 ton more, with less ammo/ton. Gets to double tap to fire twice, 15% chance to jam on that second shot.

While this all seems well and good... when it doesn't jam it's the most excessively overpowered weapon in the game. When it DOES jam it's inferior to the AC5. I've used the AC5 and UAC5 and I get about fair jams, so the AC5 is better to me.

For those people who should spend a day in Vegas? They do a monstrous level of damage that makes you want to break your headset. And that's still the problem with the UAC5.

I think an issue with jamming is that it's a "manageable" drawback. not if you stand face to face with an enemy at 200m. But if you have some distance to the enemy, and your weapon jams - just go into cover. Just like the old Quad PPC Stalkers (anyone still remember those?) - if you got too hot, you would go into cover, which for snipers, is a relatively safe bet, for a brawler... not so easy to do since the enemy can follow you.

I think it would be better if the jam was 100 % predictable. Make the weapon jam after, say, every 5th double shot, and then jam for, say, 5 cycle times, and then adjust the cycle time and the delay between double shots until the burst DPS is reasonable.

You can still "manage" the jam by going into cover, but you don't get into situations where you can deal excessive damage because the jam chance just wouldn't trigger. This would be inherently easier to balance.

The last time i checked it, the uac5 had a shorter cooldown than the ac5. It fires faster, not slower.
If you take into consideration that alot of 3 uac5 users use a macro to fire them on cooldown without jamming them (without even paying attention to the cooldown), the uac5 is just a faster ac5, with the possibilty of bursting even more damage when double tabbed.

Problem is again: wrong equotation from TT to MWO.

Its named Ultra Autocannon 5
So lets start with the Autocannon 5.

Is the Autocannon 5 - or Medium Autocannon a DPS weapon or is it a Sniper Weapon. While some would say: both - i think its more a kind of automatic weapon with a high priority on DPS.

Given the idea that the AC 5 is fine: and 3.33 DPS is fine too - and 3.33 DPS and 30 shots per ton is adequate.

What does that means for the Ultra Autocannon 5 or Ultra Medium Autocannon?

Lets take a look at the TT values:
The U-MAC in Single Shot mode has a better range profile over the MAC. DPS is same.
Given the better range profile and reduced Minimum Range: the U-MAC has an average of 16% better damage over the MAC.

So that the U-MAC using the same 30 shots per ton should have a DPS - of 3.76.

Lets look at the double tap ~ 70% chance that the second shot hit + better range profile - gives the U-MAC a 60% increase of battle value over the MAC.
So that with 15 shots per ton the U-MAC should deal 5,328 dmg.

So the potential U-MAC DMG in 30 sec is 112 or in 15sec is 79

That means in the middle: 95dmg in 22.5sec or 4.2 D in 23sec.

So the new value for a fair UAC 5 if you don't want to get rid of the 5.
RoF of 1.2; 23 Shots per ton;

Wait one? That is worser as the current UAC 5 in single mode.
Well could be - but i said its Ultra Autocannon Typ 5

EDIT:
Did a fast testing - (simple programm - you can do the same if you like)
Some million test rolls - the average DPS of the UAC 5 using double shot is 5,045. So the risk of a jam isn't worth the gain.
Before with 20% jam chance the DPS was 4.2 - worser as using single shot - making Macros even more powerfull.
