Since people use to skip long posts, read only the first part and forget the rest, i repost here this thing:

Completely NEW FORMULA FOR PPC and ER PPC, based on spread damage.
You complained that the problem is that ppc focus too much damage in too little place,but i want them also to do a bit of dps at range with the gauss, the Alpha was too big, so you increased heat on ppcs so we use less of them and you made very hard to use them with gauss:
Now they can not give easily Alpha strike, but they also lost their DPS ability that they had when they had 8 heat.........many weapons have good dps....let PPC also have a good dps, even if not focusing big alphas on single parts, so we are all ok.

WHAT I SUGGEST IS THIS SPREAD FORMULA: x=number of ppc used

damage on the hit part: (7-x)x
damage on the remaining parts, head excluded: [(10x)-(7-x)x] / 6

OBVIOUSLY PPC heat to 8 and ERPPC to 12, because they are no longer allowed to do big focusing of damage











I KNOW YOU DID NOT READ THAT EASY FORMULA, SO LE'TS DO EXAMPLES






let's assume i am using 2 ppc + 1 gauss
i hit center torso
with that formula i do on the center torso 15 damage because of the gauss, 10 because of ppcs, total 25. The remaining 10 of damage is divided per 6 and spread in all the mech. with actual different speed it will be even difficult to hit all center torso at more than 400 meters, and after 540 meters ppcs do less damage, so you will need to suffer only 20 damage in ct AS IT IS NOW.
If you make ppcs act that way you will not suffer big alphas and all us ppc fans will be able to shoot them all the times we want.

let's assume i Mount 6 ppcs on a stalker, no ghost heat (i am not stalker 6 ppc fan, but i am 3 ppc + 1 gauss ctf 1x fan and 4 mdlas + 2 gauss 70 ammo ctf 3d fan)

i shoot 6 ppcs in the centre torso. with this formula i do only 6 damage!!!!!!!!!!!!! the remaining 54 damage is divided per 6 and spread in all the mech, except head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is a completely new solution alternative to ghost heat!!!!!!!!!
the more ppc i shoot together, the less damage i do on that part and the more damage i spread all around enemy mech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And i am also allowed to use ppcs for a bit of dps at mid range as it was before, ad we are all ok.

I'm not sure why you even suggested this. It's like God-SRMs never happened (one SRM-6 could one-shot a Commando due to splash overlap).

Also this makes exactly zero sense from a game-design POV.

WHAT? and heat penality makes sense? ppc and gausses that are not primary weapons have sense? Surely this has more sense than the actual situation. By the way, read better before giving the answer, i am not suggesting to multiply anything, just divide the base damage on the various pieces of the mech, the total is Always 10 for 1 ppc, 20 for 2 ppcs, 30 for 3 ppcs............it is just that the damage is absorbed better: too many particles on the same location make some of them scatter on adiacent locations.
