The Game Is Now Balanced Well Done

I remember a post I made at the start of the summer where I begged you to stop trying to balance a game where you have different roles, I said it's impossible to balance a role based game. I was wrong!
You see I never actually thought of balancing the game by removing every single role except brawling which is exactly what you have done.
You killed, snipers, LRM boats, jump snipers, PPC Long range assault Mechs, Short range Missile Mechs, short range Streak Mechs, medium range Laser Mechs, close range LPL Mechs, heck you even got rid of Dakka dakka ballistic Mechs.
We now all have very slight variations of exactly the same build. My garage is hilarious, I have a **** load of Mechs that all carry slight variation of the same loadout. Mechspecs the website is also a funny read atm, all the new Mech builds are pretty much exactly the same bar a very slight adjustment, what a farce. No point buying a new Mech anymore as I will just put the same weapon loadout on it.
This has also made the battles boring (I predicted this on July 17th in my heat rant video) Everyone now walks in a long line to the same spot on every map and blows the **** out of eachother when they arrive. It's COD in Mechs as there is noting at all to fear walking about the map, the game is now at it's lowest common denominator and the skill-less little whiners will be loving it as it's now ultra easymode.

Not only are the mechs built the same now, but they also look the same.

Mid level ACs need a buff, in particular the LBX/10. ER Large and LPL/MPL need a buff. Narcs, artillery, airstrikes and flamers need to be pulled out of the trash. MGs need a mechanics overhaul. AC/2s and 5s need a buff to not be trash weapons. Ghost heat needs to die.
It's far, far better than it was previously. Far. I am having twice as much fun as I have for months. But it is not done yet. Not by a long shot.

Boring is subjective. A lot of long time players (founders) are bored with MWO just because they've been playing it for 2 years. You can't make one game interesting for an infinite amount of time - exposure causes boredom. Take a break and come back in a few months. It's free!

That's what Mack is saying. You are seeing everyone using the same F£%King build. Some Medium Lasers, AC and some kind of LRM or SRM. I do not see any boats anymore because they nerfed them to hell!
Which is ********...
What the hell are they gonna do when the Clans come with the Novacat? If they ever get around to it. The point is if you think about it Boating and specialist builds are dead atm, which makes no sense. In games we are taught that playing with a mixed jack of all trades build is not superior to playing a specialist in a certain field but the whiny player base who can't learn to adapt and survive come and complain.
In Eve Online if you went out in a ship with some Railguns(Long range), some Blasters(Shotguns) and some Heavy Missles(Both). You'd die and people would laugh as your corpse rolled around in space. That's not to say there useless, its just if you bump into a 6xLL stalker and you've got a mixed build then you can't complain if he kicks your *** in a straight up fight.
You can complain if broken mechanics prevent you from finding a way to beat him using, you know your head.
Sorry bit of a rant there but i agree with Mack and it's ******* me off to see such an awesome game fall down into mediocrity and shallowness where everyone is the same.

Yes, I see LRMs and AC10's sometimes, mostly AC5 and UAC5 with some lasers. My point is there is no longer anything stopping players from just rushing into brawl range, unless they are hugely outnumbered of course. A few weeks ago MWO had some useful long range builds that countered the more powerful, higher DPS UAC-5's, AC-5's, AC20 builds on long range maps, but no longer. LRMs never stopped anyone from rushing into brawling range in MWO, they are so weak they encourage it.
I just don't see any long range combat anymore. I even see some players foolishly charge a superior force to brawl them with the DPS ACs, so maybe they have succeeded with this?
You see, the short range and high DPS weapons always, and I mean always, win if they get into short range. That's core MechWarrior gameplay. Some maps block the use of long range weapons at their full range, so the winning team will be the one with the short range weapons. Many maps are mixed ranges so it comes down to tactics. However, on maps that have huge open areas long range should crush short range and MWO no longer has that balance working.

I'm sorry what? are you saying every mech is currently using a loadout of:
ac10
ac5
lrm15
gauss
multiple lasers
spare tire
PPC
Gee, I really need to fix my builds then. I didn't realize I was supposed to throw every single weapon onto every single mech. I'll also endeavor to pay closer attention when I lock targets since im pretty sure i'm seeing the complete opposite of what mack said.
Its not perfect, but its a lot better than its been at any point in the past. I don't like the heat penalty system, but you have to admit it does get the job done (albert in the most un-user-friendly way possible)

Might say that this is now more FPS-Pacman than Mechwarrior where mechs walk like lemmings on pre-determined routes.
Fights happen always on same locations, element of suprise is pretty much dependable on luck or opponents stupidity.
Boring.

If you go to his YT channel you can actually see him saying that
I follow your videos for a long time now and i saw a few of your rants. Honestly i never cared about it, because you were in a place where your opinion could very well be yours. But now, talking about the meta and how more weapons are comingo into play you are wrong and i gave me the impression that all you want is attention and comments on your YT vids.
now, i'm gonna tell you my loadouts:
4X - dual LB 10 X + dual AC 2 / dual UAC 5 + dual AC 2
K2 - dual AC 20 / dual Gauss / dual UAC 5 + dual LL / dual AC 10 + PPC
Yen-lo - stock loadout with an XL
com-1b - LL + dual ML + SSRM
3D - AC 20 + quad ML / dual PPC + Gauss
and a HGN that i sold and was playing dual PPC+Gauss
I'm boating ballistics here. You can also say that i'm boating lasers with my Com, wich i had a huge ammount of fun. I've seen a lot of LRM boats out there today and yesterday and i played all day long.
Now, you come here talking non-sense? You're judging the game by what the players play, not by what the game has to offer. Now you can do whatever the hell you wanna do with your mech and have success with it. You're saying that 3 Ultras is boating, but 3 Ultras+3ML is not?? what the hell ?! You can take a A1 LRM boat and do insane damage with it. Just the same way you can use a dual AC, just like before ghost heat, and 1 shot, some mechs. Or, you can go with the meta and use a 3 Ultras JM6, or if you feeling like spending more money in a game that you love to rant about, buy an Ilya.
If you have the same loadouts in different mechs, that's your fault, not the game's. If you always use what everyone is using, instead of a different wierd combo like Dual AC 2 + Gauss that's your own damm fault.
You know what's ez-mode? Skilless clicks. Press a button, deal massive damage, kill someone in 5 seconds, win. Yeah, you might think that's a whole different world from COD, where people have no time to react when they are under fire, but here, if mechs are under AC's range they die just as fast as they would die at sniper range a few patches ago.
basically... cut the ****

They didn't 'kill' any builds, its all still possible, just not needlessly overpowered. Now if you specialize, that's what you actually do, there's no such thing as a be all and end all build like there was before, there finally some variation in builds.
Also complaining about all builds being the same? Seriously? As opposed to what? Last month EVERYONE (you included) was boating bug weapons, now THAT was boring.
