Those are people. People with a low sense mouse, because all the cool kids play low sense. And they are either way too much working on getting those headshots like they used to do in CS, do not see the chat (very badly implemented), neither enter nor return opens a chat window or they do not understand english.
See them all the time. Or more often walk into them. Because they get in front of you just to stop dead in their tracks.
"I regret nothing!" bots would be more effective. That is the sad truth.

PGI should figure out how the bots work then add them to the training grounds...

Im sure those were people - probably very young or just newbs or non english speakers. Free to Play games will always attract alot of interest from people just testing the game but not actually engaging in combat. Also, I cant see PGI spending any man hours and other resources on bots.

there has been an dedicated group trying to get bots working in this game ever since closed beta .

they all pretty much fail miserably . im not sure if they are doing it for cbills . or if their doing it for the challenge.

what strikes me even more fascinating is the denial by many players that bots even exist.

Hi

I don't know if other people have noticed this but lately there seems to be few mechs in game every now and then that play like total idiots and seem to be bot like. They have some common features:

1. they shoot beyond their weapon range, like trying to shoot medium lasers to 1300m or so.

2. play style is very controlled, they shoot in the middle, aim is methodical and they move aim "slowly" compared to "normal", they don't make quick moves in general or seem to react to situations like normal players

3. They do not respond to chat messages, they are just quiet, people try to say to them that "you need to go closer etc." because they play so oddly.

At first i thought they were just newbies and dont know how to play, but i started to wonder why they were so similar and none of them never respond to any chat messages.

Weird? Is this somekind of account selling method, someone created bots to do money?

Anyone else seen anything like this?

I didn't know if this is the right forum, there doesn't seem to be general discussion forum anymore and only thing i could think of was that they affect balance.

(Why there isn't general discussion forum????)

Well my first thought was newbies as well but i started to wonder that why no one ever answers. you'd think some of them would answer, and i'm not dealing any bs talk, just saying basic things like "you need to get on range" and then etll the range of each weapon he has and things like that. Not once has player responded. The other thing i noticed was that they played so similar manner, like it was the exact same player but different nickname.

It could be newbies that just dont speak english or want to speak at all but it has happened so many times i started to wonder.. I should try recording video sometime so i could show what i mean.

Wrong forum, and I don't mean wrong sub forum, but completly wrong forum.

Discussion of cheats, exploits or bot using is against the code of conduct of the MWO boards, because those discussions don't help in fighting them, but only in further advertising them.

That's why I am now closing this thread.

If you want to report bots, cheats or exploits, please send a mail to support@mwomercs.com with all details you have available.
If you want to report a player for using them, include the following information if available:
- Name of player
- cheat / exploit used
- date, time and timezone
- map played
- names of other players in the match
- screenshots
- links to other media files, like youtube clips or recorded streams
