So, there are some new (and old) mechs available, but I have no free Mech Bays. I might be blind, but I can not see any way to get access to the store without selling one of my mechs. And I do not want to buy a new Mech Bay just to have a look.

I will let those much wiser than me (many, many of those) jump in to correct me, but I think you are out of luck. Maybe when UI 2.0 comes out?
