Over the months I've had several friends try the game. However I received the most curious feedback the other day from one of them that was about to try it a bit:
" I went to the main page and at least half the things I saw were about sales or things to buy using real money. I avoid F2P games that place a heavy emphasis on spending real cash on their front page. "
That particular feedback really threw me off and I was wondering if his opinion is an isolated one (first time I heard it, but I don't represent the entire community) or something that new players who do look into F2P games might get a bad impression of MW:o from it's home page?
EDIT: I shouldn't have brought up P2W in the topic, this is more about the impression from the launch page.
i personally had never thought it was an issue, but i see from a lot of new player reviews etc. that they are very annoyed by the gameclient's front page.
I guess for people who first see the game and don't understand that you don't need to spend money, its very intimidating and makes it seem like you do have to spend money. Probably attenuated by the fact that other F2P games they come from, even WoT doesn't have this practice.
a very easy solution is to just to replace those with the tutorials and maybe guides from the forums instead of sales. at launch. until they have UI 2.0
