I'm pretty sure PGI is expecting (requiring?) players to play in their preferred class from the application.

I signed up as a light pilot and was accepted. Did anyone sign up as an assault pilot?

I'm just wondering when the teams are going to be announced...

I wonder if the Phoenix mechs will be available for the Launch Event?

I mean they get released on the 15th right? So what 2 weeks early so the Launch event guys can play them.

I hope not. Knowing my luck, my teammates would want to play them, and they'd have to try and get used to a whole new Mech for a competitive tournament.

Well since the launch event is going to be held on the test server, they are probably going to just clone our accounts then add a {Scrap} ton of Cbills and GXP for the event. Thinking 200 million cbills and like 500 thousand GXP so whatever you feel you need you can get as well as enough to elite all the variants.

So sure phoenix mechs being included wouldn't be a stretch as you could get them xp'd up and yes there would be some confusion on optimal builds to run and figuring the mechs out, but also you would have the advantage of everyone not knowing their weakness's. So really it would be a wash.

But convincing a teammate not to put a 400XL in that battlemaster might be a uphill battle. =)
