That's $50 in another game I haven't played in over a year that I went back to, for a toy that's really only a one-off that I find I might not use really - and I'm not regretting it. Most of it went towards another toy I'm using quite alot now.

If anything that should speak volumes about what I think of MWO,

I came back. off and on. Decided to go quiet and just whatever - somewhat inactive, but played off and on. Lurked for a month. And what do I notice? The same old of what I can't find enjoyable.

Balance is whacked. There is no attempt to even recognize the problems and even less of an effort to fix glaring ones that are made. Its a "turn a blind eye" to the issue they don't want to deal with while they do something else. Whatever that is in between two weeks of patches...

And I'm sorry Russ, that "apology" for 3PV wasn't much of one. It read kind of rushed, and to be fair - it felt honest from you, but seriously... whomever is in charge of the PGI-community relations needs to be more in touch with what's being hollered on this end and what you are doing over there. Almost like the wrong guy's apologizing for not doing a job that isn't theirs. So I understand it, but at the same time its not quite fitting.

It also speaks loud to how this game is handled, and quite honestly I can't see much of a reason to keep this up after the supposed 'launch' that is coming up. I personally doubt the flair of the UI 2.0 and CW (whenever that hits) won't be enough to want to get me (and many others) back any longer than a peek.

The root of the game's issues lies in its balance - both the numbers, the gameplay and mechanics that are for it. Electronic Warfare, basic balanced numbers, the heat system, 3PV, player interface, mechlab... Unless it all is SERIOUSLY addressed with a REAL kind intrest of what could be be "agressive" changes I don't think this game's going to be able to fix what's needed to make it work so more players stay instead of visit before it dies off. I can't even assume there's a glimer of hope from me about this, but that needs to be done.

Oh, and stray thought of the day: a newbie help-hud that displays more clearly the direction of legs, targeting brackets and general help in a "bulkier" and more "obvious" manner - that ends up cluttering the view with added tabs, pointers, labels... but can fade away during combat to the "normal" or "experienced" view that we see now with less prominent relative information. And an option to change it, swap it for one or the other - affect the fade or keep it on/off.

You know, some kind of tag, or pointer that says this arrow on your hud is Leg Direction, that one is Torso and adding a kind of swaybar from the lower section of the screen that 'points' in that direction the legs are moving on the ground to tell the pilot you'll walk that way, stuff like that.

Guess that woulda been a helpful idea a few months ago, but eh, whatever. its not like I work for PGI brainstorming ideas, I just offer em up free of charge.

I've been doing much the same as the OP, lurking, waiting to see what form the game is taking.... and it's the same mess from what I can tell.... but oh boy, theres more mechs to buy! Collision still not put back in... I could go on, but why? See you in a few months, with the hope that it's gotten better.

How could you go to a different game with your $50? OMFG

I would have bought some beer, forget about it, get on a trial Mech for fun and no more hard feeling to PGI...

WE ALL LOVE YOU
