I'm bored and I'm fielding this question out to anyone who can be bothered reading/replying.

Game feels like it's stagnating, last time I played was probably this time last year, only now getting back on the horse. Decided to get the Overlord Project Phoenix package because, for once and perhaps never again, PGI was selling something that was possibly value for money.

Given the current situation of the game and the state of the community, should I retain my Project Phoenix Package?

EDIT:
Despite all this {Scrap} above, I still reckon that as far as mech combat goes, MWO nails it. That or we're suffering from a severe mechsim drought, which isn't really true.

What I was really asking was: Are there any reasons I should hold on to the Project Phoenix package? I'm looking for positives here.

Probably not. The game is going nowhere good.

I wouldn't dream of spending any more money on MWO after I spent $120 on Legendary Founder's. What a waste.

I didn't buy the package since I don't like the way MWO is developing.
I'm not confident that UI 2.0 and community warfare are going to fix that, though I hope to be proven wrong here.

Keep the package if you can get some actual enjoyment out of the game.

Really? They haven't even delivered their product to you yet.

If you are in the US you can call your credit card's issuing bank and initiate a chargeback. It will probably get you perma-banned, but if you feel burned and never plan on playing again... why not take advantage of consumer protection laws?

It's not possible - I live in Australia. Bank is capable of performing chargebacks, but actually... http://www.anz.com/a...gebackTop10.asp

Does no.8 qualify in my current predicament?

No it does not qualify Im afraid.

1. The "product" shipment was clearly stated for the future including a specific "shipment date"
2. If you bought it during the early bird promo time, then you already received the 30 days premium on your account meaning that part of the "Goods" have already been delivered.

If you get a refund at this point in time is actually up to the decission of PGI. The story is different if the delivery date has passed and you still dont have the goods though, then you can get a refund without any problems through the credit card company and PGI wont be able to stop it. You would also probably have to proove that you informed PGI about the missing "delivery" and set adate by which time they have to deliver (for an online transaction, 1 working day should be enough for a minimum warning period).

In the end it all boils down to your own decision. If you still play the game, and plan on playing it in the near future, then keep it. If you are deffinite that you will never again play MWO (including large future updates such as clans, CW, maybe coop vs. server bots or any other things which are in planning or have been mentioned), then try fro a refund... not promising that it is posible though.

I plan on playing in the near future, but I feel like my money could be better spent else where ... like IRL. While that's true I'd consider funneling my meagre funds into perhaps a more deserving title (?) Like a retail game, for example.

Furthermore, I did not obtain the early bird bonus perhaps a refund is viable. That said, if PGI refuses to honour refund request I'll hold no feelings against them - my fault for putting money in, in the first place.

They were giving refunds and allowing people to keep the bonus premium time. If you want a refund go ahead and ask for it.

In response to this thread. I can confirm: Of the 22 (ish) thousand Phoenix Packages sold, over 300 have already been refunded. Furthermore, 2 of my friends have been refunded all investments paid (including founders) in the past. I will be requesting my refund tomorrow.

Why? Refer my post below:

Greetings to the UniteAndDrop community.

I regret to inform you all that effective this evening, I am aborting the UniteAndDrop event. I thank all of the UniteAndDrop team for their efforts, and am now quite thankful that you remain anonymous. In my opinion, this game is now a lost cause.

I have received in the last 24 hours information from several sources that Garth Erlam, our “community manager” is pushing ‘Fox the network guy’ to shut the MWO servers down for 2 minutes upon the expiry of the UniteAndDrop website timer.

What this means, is although this event has certainly picked up steam within our community, and at last report from my own “web guy” our numbers were beginning to represent a considerable investment to the Mechwarrior Online game in the last 12 months, our developers really do not care about us as customers. They have no interest in allowing us our peaceful protest. They have no interest in us because they already have our money.

The fact that they would even consider interfering in an event like this is appalling to me, and I will not for a second waste any more of my time or yours with a venture that will make no difference to the way PGI and IGP are operating. They are telling the truth when they say they are partners, but it may well be the only thing they are telling the truth about.

I for one, will now be pushing for a refund. I will get it too, as will you if you try, as they have fully refunded friends of mine in the past.

I’m out. For what it is worth I am sorry.

Whiz.
