The main issue with the NARC pods is that they last for so little time. This is especially true for the tonnage requirement(for both the weapon and the ammo)..
My suggestion is to increase the amount of time that the NARC lasts to 1-2 minutes. Have the NARC pod actually attach to the mech that it hits, give it a hit point value and make it destroyable after attachment.
Doing this, you can also remove the 'disabled after x amount of damage is done' because of the chances that the NARC will be destroyed by the missiles that are hitting the target.
