I can't help but think....people whine, complain, cry over certain aspects of the game. Then they threaten to pull funding from the game...okay.
All of the sudden... Changes happen that were a result of the complaining and balancing.
And then nobody agrees with it, and whine, complain, cry, threaten to pull funding...etc. I see a patern here.
I always thought MechWarrior was a mature players game
And I can handle constructive criticism.
But some people...wow. They are children, plain and simple.
I still like this game. I agree with the nerfs to Ppc's and the nerf/buff to the gauss.
But even if I didn't agree with it, I will hold all judgement until launch.

There are many people with valid concerns, you can't simply brush them off as whiners.

Well, I just tried the game again after a many month long break... and despite a lot of new mechs and maps, it is still the same just not fun mess of a game.
I'd rather play Mechwarrior Living Legends mod for Crysis; that mod manages to be both fun, better balanced AND closer to the old Mechwarrior games.
MWO is, quite frankly, just garbage, and not worth spending a cent on.

I don't remember old MW games having tanks, aerospace fighters, and ground troops that can take out mechs with their portable ppcs. Where is this mysterious MW game I am missing.

it´s still strange. i still seem to be the one of a few people who took 2 facts serious:
1. "we are a small company.."
2. "don´t expect too much, this game will evolve over a long time"
i know that they never said sentence 2 directly and word for word. but they told us enough during closed beta to come to that conclusion for me to not being surprised how slow development goes...
and i am pretty sure that PGI is not THAT much off their schedule, maybe they are about 3 months behind. but nearly every game i ever was waiting for was delayed by far more...
if you listen to the latest interviews, all of the features (UI 2.0, CW 1,2,3, Clan Invasion, AI assets and so on) become serious buisness now and are not just some vague "maybe/ possible/ we think about", but way more concrete than a few months ago...
so i am not surprised, but happy that the picture becomes more complete step by step
@ "previous" MW titles... if you are talking about singleplayers...i might agree if it wasn´t for the facts, that there are also concrete plans for Co-Op missions, MOST likely with combined arms involved.
multiplayer wise, well... MW4 is the only i can talk about...and that was a BIGGER IS BETTER deathmatch with more boat abusing than we ever had in MWO. The only form of surpressing that were the leagues, run by players with their own rulesets... and people do exactly that in MWO, too...so i respect peoples nostalgic feelings, yes even i have those when i think about MW2, 3 and partly MW4...but i fear they are not more than just that... nostalgic feelings.
so, i´ll refuse from saying "the old titles were better", since MWO is a pure PvP online game currently, and was designed as such... i am happy, that this fact will also change - and i am more than willing to give it time, and a chance to PGI to makes this come true...
