Ahoyhoy.
Been looking at a cupla threads about Battlecorps and writing etc, but would like to know about how.to go about submitting a write-up for a novel.
Who owns the rights for writing and would it go thru Roc publishers?
Am past the nores and storylone stage, just the padding out and dialogue to go.

Catalyst Game Labs is who you go to.

Catalyst Game Labs and the BattleCorps.com website would be where you want to go. There are no BattleTech novels, for (ongoing) legal reasons. Instead they bring you short stories (I think they prefer under 10k words). As far as submitting material, they're always looking for more writers. But they don't accept write-ups. You submit the full story to Jason Schmetzer in the approved format and then wait. If it's good, they'll let you know. If it's bad, they'll let you know.
There are a few places where you can find the writers guidelines as dictated by Mr. Schmetzer himself. The most prominent place is the BattleCorps website itself, specifically the style guide which tells you how to write certain words and how to write your epigraph (that bit at the top of every story, with the location and system and date).
Another great resource is the BattleTech Fiction Writer's website where a number of BattleCorps authors frequent in order to hone their craft and do pre-submissions edits and QC. You can find that website here:

Best of luck.

Cheers for the heads-up guys.
Didn't know that Battletech/MechWarrior books weren't being published any more. Kinda sinks my efforts as the notes/writeup is near 10k words already! (I'm pathologically incapable of writing short stories!)
Mebbe I'll finish it anyways. Could be cathartic.

They will be publishing again in the future. Things they needed to sort out are still being sorted out though.

I love writing battletech fiction, although its been a cross between unitfic and leaguefic up until now.
I have several unpublished novels under my belt, and will have to look into this.
Tai-shu [HJ]-Maxtac Jurai
'diamondo no hitomi'
Warlord of The House Jurai

Maybe it's because I've had a newborn 7 weeks ago, but when he was first born I would still log in when he was napping between feeds to get a game or two in. Sure, gone are the days of multi-hour marathons of PUGing in MWO (never did groups). but recently during "gaming" time I have been going to other games. I've always booted up MWO first, but now... Forza? Battlefield? Xcom? SimCity?
The recent meta's are boring, the recent maps are getting boring. The biggest thing that got me excited was the Victor, before that was the Alpine map. Now... I just want community warfare and the new uI. I could give two poops about Clans, I've always enjoyed pre clan the most, or the era right before the Jihad with all the cool new mechs like Uziel and Tempest.
The recent "gauss rifle fix" is neat, but needs more tweaking. They are still trying to figure out how to make the PPC/ER PPC not the weapon of choice for everyone that can mount it... Why not give us maps and game play that suits better role warefare? Even a simple Capture the Flag mode where players can multi-drop and/or repair their mechs would introduce new strategies and mechanics that would make the game more interesting.
This is not "Launch" and to say the game is now "launched" is an insult to the community, and should be embarrassing as developers. I've been a strong, silent supporter, and just shrugged at the many who said they would no longer support the game. Like others I have disposable income that I can spend here or elsewhere, often spending $60 a month just so I don't have to grind. But now, I think I'll wait for my Pheonix packs to come in. Unless something stellar comes my way in the form of new features I think I'll just sit and wait. Drop in a few games here and there, but I think my wallet will be opened elsewhere.
The Disappointment of the Year.
Had put on the launch UI 2.0
The mechs and their variants, can not change everything. example: catapult mech must have 2 LRM'S
They must make a reconstruction of the founder mech, that can change the visuals of changed weapons.
Leveling system to raise and be able to unlock mech for level.
Would be good a game mode that allows repair. or all game use some repair system.
Game system one can use 3 mech slots per game. example, if you die you can choose the other 2 remaining mech for the next drop
In addition restore back 8vs8 game mode,as additional option of 12vs12 mode.
Voting maps in server.
Jumpjets can move sitewide, forward , backward.
Upgrade to DX11.
Improve physical on shoot, (recoil system)
Improve physical movements.
Enhancing effects of mech damage. (visual)
If the game crashes or network, can you reconnect? NO
Summary, Lack of multi-threading means no CryNetwork and GameObject synchronisation. Explains the following issues:
1. No game lobbly
2. Latency w/ object and mesh collisions
3. Hitbox collision misses*
4. Framerate drops
5. Client to server instability
6. No Community Warfare

Um, not that I disagree with the meat of your post, Floydpr, but what does it have to do with the OP? At all?
