Whatever you're trying to express is rather unclear.

Thats something I was hoping would be sorted out by release - something to let us know that the timeline is advancing. Could be as little as a little news ticker, or it could be of new maps, new mechs, new game modes appropriate to the timeframe. Maybe fluctuating market values?

Honestly though even if they do all that, it won't be enough. They'll need to speed up the timeline to something around 4:1. Its a neat concept and all, I liked it the first time I heard it, but Mechwarrior Online isn't going to be around for twenty years. This is a time that a gameplay concern is more pressing than what is constricting it - in this case, a "neat idea". The timeline needs condensing if the game is going to be played by most of us for more than a year or two, IMO. If not, three years from now, if the game servers are still even online, there will be maybe a tenth the players that the game has now - happens with almost all MMOs.

We play games made in the seventies and eighties. Everquest and World of Warcraft have been around for over ten years. Why would Mechwarrior Online be an exception? It will be there for more than twenty years.

Lol the first time I remember the "coming soon" used (with it obviously not being something releasing soon). Back in 1995 there was a trailer for C&C Tiberium Sun once you completed the original Command & Conquer.... skip to 4 years later and they had the game finally released.
