It was the combination of 2 events that made them the weapon of choice.

Disappearance of high alpha builds, and the jamming buff.

The only thing that held these builds back from being used everywhere was the fact that you need to expose yourself to the enemy and risk eating an alpha-strike. Now that these are gone (heat-increase AND ghost-heat) there's nothing to hold them back.

Before someone tells me "you can still alpha!" i tell you to shut up. doing an alpha under "insanely shaking high dps long range ac fire" is hard to do and the second after your alpha you're a sitting duck, ripped apart from the mech you just shot because he gives a **** about your >>1<< alpha that eventually lands.Don't even start with "then dont use as many of them", because u are using more than 3, i you would get your hands on an 6+ ac slot assault you would use even more.

They don't need to worry about exposing them any longer, They just hold the trigger and BANG 10 seconds later the enemy Atlas is scrapmetal. Translated to the old TT 10 second rounds its CT coring an Altas in 1 round.

Why again was energy ****** up? no counter? weapon of choice? well then DEV's take a GOOD look around, come back to earth and sort your mess ....

I was always enduring the balance of weapons by the DEVs but now ... even if i get a warning.

WHAT ******* DID YOU DO HERE IGP/PGI?

AC STACKING ALLOWED and my ASSAULTMECH build around ENERGY WEAPONS got ***** + SPIT ON + THROWN INTO THE BIN?

And yes, im as a founder, i am A BIT enraged.

*entering the frezzer*

edit:

The Inventor of the wheel made it a circle, not out of curiosity, well no, because a wheel has to be round to be a wheel.

The TT rules weren't made out of curiosity, they were meant to balance things. You just destroyed that balance. [edit2] AGAIN [/edit2]

Ok, i feel as if i am beating a dead horse with alot of posts about the UAC5, but i just went 3 matches now where my mech was burnt down by people using 2+ UAC5's. I quit the game and dropped from my team-speak group saying until this is fixed i'm not even going to bother playing, and its not because those 3 matches, its because its been that way sense they were adjusted. You on one hand say that the gauss is OP because they are effective as a brawler weapon, however the charge feature makes the weapon useless in an environment with appearing and disappearing targets. So, i hope this issue is fixed and a better look is taken at reducing a weapons potential, and gaining another, you have been doing this for a bit and have seen the meta trends learn from it.

Players are like lemmings. Sooner or later, they always go to the most efffective loadout possible. But if UAC is brough down to AC5-level, then AC5 should get buff to 1.25s cooldown. With 1.5s its da shaittiest gun in the gam.
