I personally don´t care for the non functional/broken backspace key in MWO. I rather use the workaround "CTRL+A & Delete", but if you like to have a proper functional backspace key in the in-game chat, you can use this macro. I made it just for the fun of it.

With this script the backspace key will behave like it is supposed to be by the inventors of the computer keyboard. It will delete the characters repeatedly when holding the backspace key, after a short delay of~250ms.

backspace (main):

I don't like the use of macros when it comes to working around weapon mechanics as it provides advantages and the illusion of skill BUT this macro is something I can get behind since it is HELPFUL until PGI corrects this annoying issue.

Nice work sir.

I forgot about that backspace issue, I have added it to my list of niggles that PGI need to address here.

@Kibble : Surely encouraging proper chain fire is a good thing for the health of the game - sustained fire suppression has a place in the game right? Would you rather people with 3xUAC5s alpha'd you or gave you a chance to move out of their line of fire?

EvilC. I have no problem with encouraging proper chain fire without the use of a macro and yes sustained fire is a wonderful way to get people to submit to your will. I do not see your point as I completely agree with you. It's the macros I do not agree with.

I do not use macros and yet I have my 2xUAC5s on my founders 4g group in a way where they, more often than not, will not jam. It's all about timing and learning the game machincs without the use of a "trainer".
