Most of them them top speed is exactly the same, capped at around 151kph (after speed tweak).

What you want is a Jenner, it is fast, has jump jets, and potentially the best weapons capabilities.

The Commando, Jenner, Cicada, Spider, and Raven (only the 3L variant) can all reach what is currently the max possible speed in the game, 150kph.

The devs say that anything faster than that inevitably breaks the netcode, and so that is as fast as you can go in the game. It was meant as a stopgap measure, but it's been a placeholder for over a year now.

If they ever remove the current top speed cap the spider will be the fastest of our current mechs, but I doubt we will ever see anything going faster than the low 150 KPH range.

If you want to ease your way into Light mechs, the Spider is a great place to start. The Jenner is, in my opinion, better and packs way more punch, but requires substantially more skill to pilot effectively because it has an incredibly large Center Torso. With shaky hit detection and funky hitboxes, the Spider is easier to use and can still do quite a bit of damage. The 4 MG spider can be quite fun to play, too.

The speed is not hard capped at 150 - if a 'Mech says it's going 152 it is going 152. I've tested this, as have numerous others on the forums. A 'Mech going 152 will slowly pull away from another 'Mech going 150.

Except neither of those 'Mechs, nor MASC, are in game yet.

Sorry, I was rounding. I will rephrase:

All the mechs I listed in my previous post can go plus or minus 3kph of 150kph. If that extra 3kph is truly critical to you, pick a jenner instead of a raven.
