Nice idea, i say yes, and I suggest a feature to see either name or mech
Ex:
Mr.A.has killed JR7-F(E) Where (E) is target identification code
Mr.A has killed Mr.B if target is unidentified

I'm only going to to say no because I'd rather MWO stay moving towards 'A thinking person's shooter' rather than 'CoD: Derp Ops.'
It's an immersion thing for me, and RED KILLED BLUE just seems to have a negative pull to it.
Though, I have to admit that it would provide an easier flyby indication of who was killed on which side in a PuG environment. Maybe make it a toggle?

Not to be a jerk about it, but there is this, and it's far more useful:
Think you missed where the indicators would be on the "names" of the players so that if Blue Player has killed Red Player you know that your team killed their team rather than "Bland color has killed bland color. Bland color has killed bland color. Bland color has killed bland color. Bland color has killed bland color." And maybe 10 seconds after this you realize someone has killed 6 people on your team while fighting for your team.

I don't think Coloring the names on kill reports would hurt anything in 12-mans. In a 12-man everyone is calling out if they're under fire and how many mechs (of what type) were present when they died, so coloring of names wouldn't affect gameplay in 12-mans good or bad because everyone already has that information. Almost no one does this in pugs. Coloring the names of red vs blue would help immensely in the pug environment to show a quick flow of the battle.
There is no kill counter in Conquest so coloring the names of the kill-report would help there, or they could at least introduce a kill-counter in conquest...

Suggested this a while back...so easy, so helpful, so obvious. Make. It. Happen.
