I'm allergic to XL Engines on Jagers. What do you guys find to be an effective Firebrand without using an XL engine? Despite my best attempts, it seems like all my Firebrand STD-engine builds are either 1) painfully slow, or 2) woefully underpowered.
Yes, I can slap dual-gauss or a dual AC/10 loadout on there, but I can do that better on my Jager S or DD, respectively. Why bother with the Firebrand if you're not going energy/ballistics on the arms?

While it's fallen down the page now, I had started a firebrand build thread saturday... no standard builds really though, so maybe... Standard FIREBRAND? Or Standard Hot FIREBRAND? Oh or the Crazy FIREBRAND!

Crazy indeed. Those first two do seem underpowered to me. You can make the argument that AC2 performs above its potential, but it still feels woefully underpowered to me.
I appreciate the effort though.

Well there is always the Rifleman FIREBRAND. Runs a tad hot though since no added DHS in it. Also a bit light on ammo...

Personally, I use my "Gladiator" build.
That isn't bad. I have a weak spot for asymetrical builds, too.

Thanks. You can run it cooler by throwing on 5 ML's instead, but I like being able to reach out and touch someone with the LL...or ERLL (if you're feeling hot), just 'cause. It's nice to lose a shoulder and have people automatically turn away because 'no use uses a STD in Jagers!'

I always wondered if you could perform a manual power-down right after losing a side torso, and if it would fool players that are in the thick of combat. Be cool to "play possum" in this game.
