While I have just registered I have been a BM player since it first hit the shelves, altho I almost always had to run it instead of getting to play my own mech.
However this is an online game and I am new so I would appreciate if someone could tell me if this is a total pvp game, or a mix of pve/pvp. Thanks in advance for any answer.

Currently, by all accounts it appears to a purely PvP game.
Speculatively, it may be expanded with PvE content at a much later date.

I have been wondering the same myself and I'm sure many others do as well.
The game was only announced about a week ago, so nobody really know.
There really only are speculation, so I think you just have to wait for more information.
I recommend you read the FAQ though , if you have not already done so, there may be some information about it there.
Also check the announcements section for the Q&A thread and ask there is not someone have beat you to it.

i have a sad feeling it's gonna be WoT with mechs and a skill tree, rather than WoW with mech combat.
both of which are pale comparisons to the likes of...DAoC end game mech's, or SWg/JTLS pre-NGE with mech's replacing the fighters in JTLS
