"- Advanced Zoom Module's implementation slightly changed giving it increased picture fidelity. Instead of returning to the default FoV before overlaying the PIP, it now zooms in closer and then applies the PIP zoom."

Does anyone have pictures of new implementation?

it is very much improved and with the changes to gauss rifles, pretty handy too.
I did a lot of sniping today with a dual gauss Illya and the advanced zoom.
I was able to core people before they could even see me.

The advanced zoom is a thing of beauty now. This is what I expected to have when I bought it in the first place, so a very welcome change. I reconfigured my controls to do away with regular zoom entirely.

These are very encouraging words to hear. I'm glad the advanced zoom finally has value. :)

Loving the advanced zoom. One game I was able to clearly see from range the legs of a jenner hiding behind a cap and snipe them off. It was great to be able to get use out of this module finally.

Advanced zoom is awesome now. Nice work dev crew!

I feel it may become one of those must haves however.

Advanced zoom is still rubbish.

The zoom itself is great, but the mechanism sucks badly and as a result I do NOT consider it usable.

Let me clarify:

You are at 3x zoom looking at a target, and hit v for advanced zoom. It brings up the window showing you 4x zoom.

You then want to close the window and return to 3x zoom, but you can't. Hitting v or z returns you to 1x zoom.

What kind of BS is this? closing the PIP zoom should return you to the normal zoom mode you were last in!

Very disorienting to use on anything but the extreme range.
Other than that, works a lot better than it used to.
I could see the change that pressing the pip-button again returns you to your previous zoom.

Holy {Scrap}...it works pretty much as it was originally designed to work.

Chalk one up for PGI. :(

Really? Censor the word "cr@p"?

Is that a "cuss" word or something? I'm taking my chalk mark back. lol

First of all: i love the New Zoom, finally my dusty, old module came out of the barracks from the lowest shelf and can actually be used for the first time - so thanks PGI, although it took you a year!

In particular I like the fact that the rest of your view is kind of restricted while zooming in in full beauty ... It happens quite often to mee that I am focused on my zoom and forget about the rest of the world and of course I get hit by the small Atlas which sneaked in my back ;) honestly: I like that, I should learn the discipline to use it.

Besides, the old complaints are still valid:
A) i'd like to see a back-and-forth zoom mechanic, I should be able to switch back from 3x to 1.5x and from 1.5x to 1x without being forced to cycle through. In particular in the heat of the battle this would be useful
B) when using advanced zoom - coming from whichever zoom factor I used prior to it - switching if off should throw me back to the factor I started with

Hopefully it does not take another year until fix or until notice why it is implemented the way it is.

Best regards,
Al Bert

One thing I love about the Adv Zoom Module is that you can go from no zoom to full zoom and back again without needing to cycle through the lower levels of zoom.

I used to use the advanced zoom to to that - spamming it twice always zoomed you out. However, why waste a module slot just for that?

My new zoom mod (see sig) will let you toggle between no and full (3.0x) zoom, without having to use the advanced zoom - set "Zoom mode" to "Max Only".

Plus, you can use it to bind wheel up to zoom in and wheel down to zoom out. It also removes the loop (zooming in while at full zoom does nothing)

See sig for link. Does not work with advanced zoom - I cannot be bothered to code support in until adv zoom returns you to last zoom.
