As a community we have a long and riotous amount of forcing gameplay or weapons to work properly. As I just received my Mechwarrior tactics Beta key I had quite fun looking at the different manufacturers of weapons and how that affects gameplay. I was wodneirng if The problems we have with Autocannons, Gauss, and Srms, etc. can be changed in to different manufacturer quirks.

You still get a standardized set of weapons that function a certain way. The manufacturer design can affect say, SRM flight paterns or better Streak homing abilites.

Heck , i wouldn't mind spending some MC for specified "superior" weapons.

And not sure if this is viable because I am not sure about this type of equipment manufacture, Jumjets can function to have slightly higher range, speed, acceleration, etc. Even generate a little bit less heat.

Now I know PGI will have alot of trouble dealing with the re-implementation fo this ( for existing developed gameplay stuff) but if it gets slowly implemented would be fine. Heck it's better then ditching code they already made.

I definitely want to see different manufacturers, but I do NOT want to see MC "superior" weapons like you said. MC could certainly be used to unlock them earlier/faster than freebie players, but there should be no premium-only weapons. I don't want "gold ammo" (or gold weapons) in my MWO.

PAY TO WIN

Your argument and thread is invalid.

Anyway, as for having different styles of the same weapon (Magna Hellstar PPC vs a Starcutter PPC or Ceres Arms Smasher PPC) To have mildly different stats like -+1 heat, +-100m/s or +-.2 recycle rate.. etc.

That would be very interesting. Hell, if they go far enough with the idea they could bring back the Blue Bawlz of Doom from MechWarrior 2. The Parti-Kill Heavy PPC model. -500m/s, -1 Recycle Rate.

Go to 2:30 for reference

Manufacturer-based weapon and equipment variants could also be a feature of CW. Similar to mechs, you would get whatever your faction has available cheaper/in unlimited quantities, with stuff from other manufacturers harder to obtain/randomly unavailable.

Better weapons for MC is obviously not a good idea. It would break the current model, which succesfully avoided PTW.
