I could probably make a good build, but not a good cheap build. And I need that Jager mastered. BTW nice build Shar.

What's an iPanel 7?

I googled it, but all I got was Apple's support sites

Pretty sure it's made up, I'm thinking its either those flatscreen panels that show 'mech info or it's panels of armor.

If it's armor or screens, they should definitely not be in a pretzel shape, I think the jenner that shipped it must have been having fun with the jump jets..

If I remember right, I used the XL from the -DD on it

Never bought the -S

cSand sent me an invite right before I went to bed - but that would have pushed his group up to 5 men, so I took my leave.

251.

Your scores impressive! (and highlights how poorly I was playing :P)

Oh cSand.. that would have been a good lance I bet. Ive had my mech in the mud more than once with him on op-for. I had some bad rounds, some good rounds and some great rounds(including a few losses that yielded massive points)... and 4 point rounds.. they happen too. >_<

Ive had VBPanels shipped folded in half, if you sneek down the ramp at Terra Therma and leave them to warm by the magma, they should return to their before shipping factory state.

I made it up, as in the panel screens you see on BattleMech cockpits.

I was making fun of the new iPhones which are notorious for bending in pockets.

Which 'mech is everyone's favorite based on the cockpit?

I'd say the firestarter and atlas are one of the best for me, they both look very comfortable inside.

Touch choice.

Clan mechs are pretty far down the list (on average) though.

Is the heavy thunderbolt any good? I've been thinking of stepping down from an assault for a bit and training in a heavy, I don't really want the popular heavies (jager, cataphract) and the thunderbolt looks pretty crazy. (in a good way)

Personally?

It is.... awkward.
There are days when piloting it feel more right than any other mech - but most of the time I feel.... awkward in it.

Having said that, the moment I finished Elites on mine, I put them aside to get other mechs up through Elite, so I have not really played with them

I can agree on it being awkward, it is really hard making a nice build on the mechlab, the only one that seems alright is the 5SS, but it doesn't have the flexibility I would like.

Could you suggest some uncommon heavies worth using? Though I don't expect them the be very good since they are...well, uncommon. I just can't fit very well with the jagers, though to be honest I was much less experienced in upgrades than I am now (I basically used it stock).

If you can tank well - the Thuds are insanely tanky compared to the other heavies (massive side torsos)

Orion are mini-assaults, for both good and ill

Along the same vein, Dragon and Quickdraw are bigger Mediums

And of course - the Catapult is the Missile master.

Only heavy I do not own at least 3 of are the Quickdraw, and they all have their upsides

Jagers and Cataphracts are the popular ones due to the balance of speed, firepower, and armor they provide

What else do you want to know about them?

After playing around with the dragon and the quickdraw, the dragon 1N and 1C looks really nice, not sure which I want. The quickdraw 4H looks interesting as well.

After looking at the orion, it looks good as well....

This is going to be hard.

I like my Orion (I like almost all my mechs) but they are not easy to play.

Like an Atlas - with less armor.

The (C) Dragon is what finally convinced me to buy them, haven't even really looked at the Quickdraw yet though.
The design never really appealed to me.
Do not dislike it, it just does not grab my attention enough to have a say one way or the other.

I like the look of the Orions with missile fists, but that funky torso dissuades my purchase every time.

I'm almost completely settled on the orion, also leaning toward the V variant. If I was going heavy just to go heavy I would probably get a dragon but since I want something to train me to assault without wasting everyone's time in an assault the orion seems very nice.

Also I have never used SRMs in MWO so the orion-V might be a nice introduction. Now I will try out the trial heavies to see how they handle.

Also, you should get paid for the help you have been giving me, Shar. I thank you and your infinite army of 'mechs for the help.
