I was grinding for CBills in my AC20 Hunchie today when I (somehow by the will of the Gods) snuck up on a Spider from his left side on HPG Manifold.

He was standing perfectly still, unaware of the doom looming over him. I took my sweet time and lined up a shot, hoping to blast through his weakened left arm and rip his LT out, destroying the XL engine he had a 99% chance of having. Easy kill, right?

Nope. Instead the shot somehow landed on his COCKPIT. From straight-on the LEFT SIDE!

AND IT DIDN'T EVEN KILL HIM!

So he ran off, both arms fully functional, legs intact, with all the armor stripped off his mech's head and its internals red... But he was still alive, and there was no way I was going to get another shot into a moving Spider's cockpit.

Arguably, my pulse lasers could have finished him off if I grazed them along the cockpit lightly, but I died before I got the chance.

Oh well.

Prior to the quirks, I ran 3 MPLs and an AC/20 on my HBK-4H and on my Grid Iron.

It was pretty sweet.

Who needs a big engine when you have near max armor and a AC20 3 MPL alpha strike?

XLs suck for Hunchbacks anyway, as soon as they shoot your cannon out it's game over.
