Im loving it, so much more view in all of... most of my mechs(Highlander feels like im hiding in a cave). Its like the difference of "in car" and "in driver" view on race sims.

Since this thread seems to wander all over the place I thought I'd offer this up:




I'm a member of The Brethren Pirate Merc Corps. One of our officers recently challenged us with a Time Trial on Forest Colony to see how fast we could complete the map. Our pilot Luigi won all four categories, proving that he has a definitive mind meld with his BattleMechs.

That being said, I went back the day after the contest ended and bested his time in the Heavy Mech category. Who here can beat it? See the vid; time is 1:26 minutes to clear the Colony.

Yeah, I would've needed a bigger mech... MUCH bigger.

You serious? Now THAT would have been scary.

Not that chances are it would have worked as well as imagined, considering the technology limitations they had during the time period. But today, we could probably make a tank like that that's three times as powerful AND effective.

But of course, the reason we don't see them being built by anybody these days is because of the cost involved of building, maintaining and transporting one to a war zone. In fact, if my memory is right, the reason Germany didn't finish the Ratte was because they ran out of money trying to build it.

But still.. Very scary stuff.

Ran into XphR in game today in a CW match against some clams.

I didn't see his name until the end of match screen, kinda felt bad.

Man, its impossible to get a match in CW past 10pm eastern.

No worries, it was good to run into you(I mentioned it in v-chat to my buddies but didnt get a good chance to throw a comment in text). Two of that crew I had not seen in months so we had a lot of catching up to do mid battle. Had a few really good games today, some wins some losses. The last round I just had.. thats the last one for today.. Attackers wanting to defend killed the flow.

Waited a total of an hour and twenty minutes with a few friends, we tried to get in on the ST.Ives action, that didn't work, we tried two other worlds and got nothing. Ended up doing group battles.

Hopefully soon each planet will have a semi accurate count of willing participants from each side.

As a rule I do not watch streams - or youtube.

Hate watching other people play, and I would never think anyone would ever enjoy watching me play.

Yeah same here, I just can't watch and enjoy it because I notice lots of slight tactical errors that irritate me.

Last Adobe update messed up Civ4

Going to have to remember where I stuck the disks so I can try reinstalling.

It mess anything up for anyone else?
(Civ seems to be the only thing for me so far)
