I have not played since closed beta ended and they went open beta. I am checking back to see how things are. What is the condition of the game at the moment? What are the good things and the bad things in game?

Basically there is more of the stuff we already had (mechs, maps), none of the big things that were mooted (no CW, no lobbies), some things that were not going to happen have happened (3rd person view, coolant flush consumables), there are 12 per team rather than 8, and spiders are the new ravens. I think that covers it.

Good things: It's mechs. Dakka-dakka, pew pew, etc.

Bad things: That is a bit subjective, but 5 mins on the forum will make it clear that there are many things that many people consider bad. You will have to decide for yourself if they are actually bad.

Patch it up and try it for yourself; that's the only way to really know if you like it (still).

But since you ask it's still a good little 'mech game at heart.

Yeah, play it yourself. People have very different ideas of what the game is like and what it should be.

I had fun last night. With any luck UI2.0 and CW are no more than a few months away, that should help bring some longevity.

Even the "Haters" are still playing the game. What does that tell you?

HSR is pretty important if you play from offshore.

ballistics are the new srms

PPC's rose and fell from grace while you were away. Lrms are still lrms

Its better but the only real new things are more mechs and a few new maps. Movement restrictions are total {Scrap} atm. but theres hope that PGI looks into this again.

OP hasn't played since closed beta. What does that tell you?

And on the off chance that he's been in Africa since closed beta, building hospitals, then keep in mind that plenty of Founders have not played more than a few games in 2013.

It's a good game, but let's not pretend it's everybody's cup of tea.

Hit detection is over all better now, much so. Game runs more smoothly on more machines. all in all the game is more stable as of now, so yes it has improved.
For the rest you have to find out yourself if its enough for your taste imo.Cheers

This is one Founder that has played enough to take up the slack of a few of those afore mentioned Founders, so no worries there...

They dealt with all the really bad bugs (yellow screen, no fof indicators, mini map bugs etc.)

They've tightened the game play so mechs aren't going up every hill unrealisticly.

Balance has gotten near to the point one or two weapons are no longer the only ones used by the majority.

They've nipped the "boat all of one weapon" syndrome in the behind.

Great game if you enjoy the experience of playing matches. If you require some carrot of accomplishment to keep you playing, you'll need to wait for community warfare.

Personally, was figuring my founder purchase was going to be like any of my other game purchases..... play for a few months then get bored and find another game. I have been pleasantly surprised that it has kept my interested this long.... and I'm not getting bored anytime soon.
