I saw a recent post on NGNG about how it is likely that users are creating new profiles and intentionally 'bombing' reviews of MWO, thereby creating an overall lower rating of the game. I don't know if this is the proper forum to post this or if a similar post has already been mentioned, but perhaps a more accurate gauge of community rating could be derived from a "pre/post-patch survey". By this, I mean every time a patch comes out, there should be an optional survey that comes up right after a new patch has installed (the only reason someone should turn it down is sheer laziness or an actual objection to the principle of the survey itself), and it should be a simple scaled survey of overall satisfaction of the gameplay in the most recent updated version of the game before the new patch was installed. No specifics, just a 1-10 type of survey, and this would be associated with a profile that has been around for x amount of time. It sounds like there would be prejudice against those who just started up a new account, but it could also factor the amount of time put into a game and this time would reflect the value of the person's decision, hopefully eliminating a very low value based on, say only one match. It is not perfect, but these control measures may be more effective in gauging a community's true satisfaction rating vice what is currently in place.

Ultimately, this is geared towards catering to that silent majority who keep playing without raising their voices, and ideally this would get a broader spectrum of commentary, not just from the famously loud and passionate minority.

Additionally, enabling this for each patching period would set the conditions for trend development, which, could track the overall progress of the development of the game, which offers a great deal more feedback than a one-time-only satisfaction survey, as MWO is certainly not the game it was last year, or two months ago for that matter.
