As much fun as it would be to see that many mechs plowing into each other doing more harm to their own team then the enemy, im pretty sure most current pcs would have issues with sixty mecsh lobbing hundreds and hundreds of LRMS through the air then 20-30 AMS start shooting at them.

To get that effect, we got each team on one side and had them walk together as though they were one team.

Well, people dont know that.
I would like to have 20v20 or 24v24 very much! I think it would be a blast. Fun. Nothing else matters.

I supose it should be 36v36 ie battalion v battalion but that would have to be an epic sized map with objects beyond "Kill all Mechs"

It's 11 mechs on each side attacking the 2 opposing spiders circling each other, ignoring all other targets no matter how badly crit their rear CT is.
In other words, it's a perfectly accurate representation of the current game state.

Nope.
That was setup by making all 24 plaers of a 12v12 match run down that hill facing the same way.
Anyhow I think PGI alread stated that 12v12 will be the max as they probably won't be able to keep things stable and playable with more stuff going in game.
But the most important reason why we will not see 30 vs 30: 30 is not a multiple of 4.
