ELO has been complete trash today as far as I can tell and that is assuming I don't screen lock and have to alt+tab kill process to get out the game. 10+ alive on the other side at the end for nearly every match equals hella busted.

Played last night after the patch, and saw no differnce in Matchmaking based on Elo.
I was showing a brand new player the ropes (by brand new I mean their first experience with MWO, although they had played WoT), this means that player had the default Elo ranking and the Cadet modifier (which I believe set Elo at 900, whatever that means).

I have over 4,000 matches, however in those 4000+ games I had less than 10 in a light mech, so a baseline Elo score. The only light mech I have EVER owned is my Founders Jenner (my lifetime stats including the games from last night below. NOTE: the 33% KDR)


So now we have a brand new Cadet player (hopefully a future MWO customer), and a no-to-low Elo Veteran player on a 2-man team, on launch night (likely the highest population density this game will ever see). We dropped instantly into matches, with no more than a 10 second delay to find match, indicating that the matchmaker was able to immediately find opponents within the supposedly narrow confines of our skill level and weight classification. Needless to say we got rolled all night. The following match is my personal favorite as it demonstrates a complete FAILURE of the matchmaker. It not only stacked numerous Brand New Cadet players in trial mechs on one team, but it didn't even make a casual attempt at weight class matching. The matchup below is so unbalanced, I cannot imagine what would happen after a 3 minute wait.

I would also like to note that in this match we experienced the Cap bug. Once we realized that we were so severely outgunned and ran to enemy cap, nothing happened. Good one PGI, nice joke.

Yeah.. Kept seeing again and again... Takes awhile to find a game.
And when it does... It seems team with most assaults usually wins.

Need to monitor the new match makers further...

Hahaha, are you for real? Like, seriously? He used Jeebus in a joke example. He wasn't explicitly mocking religion. If you really did take offense in that, you should take a good look in the mirror and think if you didn't overreact. Oh well thats murrican religion... Maybe we might take offence because you were turning it into religion. On topic:
No problems with ELO, only with the timeslots. It seems that when I play during NA prime time my team loses a lot and during my prime time the matches are well balanced with win/loss. Just like before.

Finding games is a problem? Or are you referring to 12 man drops? If so, then i have to tell you, there is no shortage of players over here. When i join my usual community Teamspak Server there are a lot of ppl i can drop with. Most of them, myself included, just aren't interested in 12 man drops, because they think its more fun in a small group and i agree.

Biggoted? I don't have any religious believes, unlike you it would seem. I was not mocking your religion, i was mocking you. For believing there might actually be a european server, given the state the game is in currently. But i guess you just made my point for me, since believing in fictional things seems to be a pattern with you.

ELO system is a great idea, unfortunately due to a few recent terrible decisions (cancelling community warfare-sometime , maybe , never) and the ,mountain of bad press this game has received, there are just not that many people playing this anymore.

So a system of matchmaking that pulls from a smaller pool of available players, when that pool is small to start with will take a while to find a match..simple math.


PS. to answer the more servers question, you are more likely to personally witness the second coming of Christ than see more servers open for this game in the state its in.

Overseas servers won't happen if they can't/won't fragment the player base for 1)3PV/1PV 2)Recruits/Veterans 3)Solos/Teams

Remember, once they open the overseas servers you will have to pick which server and then you are stuck. There will be no games between servers so the x% of players that are on that server will be all that the matchmaker has to match with. That will mean longer wait times than now.
