I don't even play conquest anymore because of this. Games last too long with very little reward. I think it's silly that I have to cut out a whole game mode if I want to make cbills at any not-quite-respectable rate.

One reason I started playing Conquest was that I got a sick of seeing my entire team composed of Heavies and Assaults. It just bothered me. Prior to that, I played Assault all the time.

Nope, it's the 3050 version of the Great Depression right now.

If you think its bad now wait until clans come out and a madcat is 25 million, and a daishi is 30 million...

Just like most would not allow guests to trash their house (verbally, over and over) after inviting them in, despite the guest right to do so, right?

Not even close to an accurate comparison. My house is not a place with a sign hanging over it that says, "Free to enter, please come in!"

Whereas, this website only requires a brief, almost entirely anonymous registration in order for the general public to post here.

I have a lock on my front door, and the mat in front of the door says, "Come back with a warrant."

On these forums, you only have free speech as far as the Admins and Moderators are willing to allow you free speech. This is their website, they are free to moderate it however they so choose. If that happens to include people trolling or doing nothing but flaming the developers, then so be it.

Constructive Criticism is more than welcome, being a raging ****** is not.

Might not be that bad if you only need 1 variant to master a chassis.

Right now a Jaeger costs roughly 5.5 million + 1.5 million for DHS + 650,000 for Endo-steel, so ~7.5 million? Not to mention if you're a new player, you might buy an XL engine. Assumedly the Clan chassis will have have some restrictions in place (like no engine swapping etc.) so that each chassis feels unique, since hard points will be less of a differentiator.

This is true to a point. Even the constructive criticism gets deleted.

Case in point:

I really think you should post this as a suggestion, its a great idea and doesn't deserve to get drowned out in the launch thread.

You know. They wound up deleting that post of mine.

It was a post suggesting that the third person view mode be assigned as an equipped module that took up a slot, where eventually you have to choose between a corner-peeking module that lets you lock on to targets you can't see or another more valuable module.

It also showed how awesome the third person crosshair is, in how if its aspects are applied to first person (i.e. bobbing realistically with your mech and its version of armlock) would greatly improve (reduce) the pinpoint damage issues we have.

Mentioned here in Lordred's video.

And here in mine with a simple analysis.

Then here, ages ago, where I originally pointed out the biggest issue to pinpoint aiming.

An intelligent suggestion and constructive criticism. Deleted, from five different threads including a suggestion one.

I'm sure someone has already said it but CBills were nerfed because RnR was taken out of the game.

The game is live. The free ride is over. Spend time or real money its up to you.

Its live? So, what changed compared to beta? Must be a lot of new content and gamemodes now ;)

(unfortunately, i chose option 3: still keep an eye on the game, but dont spend money, nor time on it other than checking the forums and seeing if they actually do something with it which would attract me as a potential costumer.

1) Equip ERLLs
2) Sweep the laser over anything that remotely resembles an enemy
3) Profit if your team happens to win

And I'm not even joking. That's how badly planned the rewards are. Assists is basically all you should worry about. Kills just net you pocket change.

You only need the one ERLL, the rest of your build can be normal.
But don't boat. Boating is evil.

Keeping the cbill earnings this low in spite of the mostly general anti-cbill-nerf sentiment means that they really think it encourages players to buy premium.
But it's not, since premium got shafted as well: while still +50%, 150% of zero is still zero ...
With my usual playstyle (shoot to kill, not to scrape every enemy for assists) my highest earning pre-nerf was 295k with premium.
Post-nerf a similar game netted me 205k with premium, which I could attain without premium pre-nerf.
I'm not going to spend a dime just to earn the same amounts which I could earn without premium before the nerf.
In fact, I'm not even playing, because FU PGI for trying to use negative incentive (i.e. punishment) to grab more money from me.
Maybe I will reconsider when/if at all CW is in and the rewards are fleshed out fully.
Until then dream on PGI about your magnificent "launch" and be happy with your 5.4 on Metacritic, lol.

I wouldnt feel the need to do this if I didnt just get 96k off of a win with 2 kills in my X-2. 2 kills and no assists in a game where we rolled the opponents 12-2.

If I had just been a gigantic dbag and spent the entire match bein useless to get assists I could have easily boosted that to 200k.

Another game last night, I won us the game when we were down 8-2 with the last 4 nearly dead because I capped the base. How much did I get for that win? About 50k cbills. The capture bonus was pathetic despite the fact that it won us the friggin game.

I might as well have just derped around and attempted to get an assist and I would have gotten more cbills on the loss.

Economy is idiotic in MWO.

I agree that capping doesn't pay well enough. I usually play to win, which in conquest means capping points. I often find myself in a situation where the enemy has 3 points and we have 2. I'm near an enemy capped point but I see my team engaged in a fight little further away. It tears me into two when I think should I play the long game and cap this point for us to give us 3 or go blast some mechs and then notice there's a 1-2 light mechs running rampant and we cant catch them and lose by points. It's very annoying to deal with that and it happens a bit too often because when I choose to cap, the end reward is always much lower.

I think possible solution is to track individual capping. Everybody still gets the global reward for the cap points, but every mech also gets a bonus based on how much of the actual capping they did, so time spend on a capping point that is in active cap (not just stand on full cap point for fun).

Frankly at this point i think they need to add whatever they can to increase CBill gain. Increased Kapping Bonus, Increase Kill Bonus, Increased Damage Bonus, Increased Spot Bonus, Everything. CBill gain is so slow (and because of that premium time dosent feel worth it).

Honeslty MWO I had set my self to gives you guys 70 bucks (about what id exspect to pay for a new game), so far i'v given you 30$ and I regret giving you that. No faction warfare, no clan system, low gain and often unsatisfying reward system, and what after a week of gameplay is already becoming a depressingly small variety of maps and game types. I want to give you my money guys, but this game feels like its still in Beta.

I find it funny that in the ask the devs they are revamping the tutorial for new players. The reason why no players aren't sticking with the games isn't only the learning curve, it the huge grind PGI. I got a friend into mwo shortly ago and he stopped because to many matches, no enough cbills. Then he commented on how we saw the same players for atleast 5 matches in a row which means small community. He said he wasn't going to invest in a dead game.

This game feels like beta, just because, since beta, the only thing that changed, was a new look for the cashstore. There is no difference in gameplay between now and some months ago. (Except offcource the things the whole community was against, like third person view.)
