I just remembered something. Assuming Bishy's system of double-tap fired instantly (instead of half-cooldown like current system) with ~10% jam chance, the UAC/20 would still be hilariously broken. If double-tapped, it would fire out 2 projectiles for 20 damage each, resulting in 40 damage almost instantly...from a weapon that weighs 12 tons and takes up 8 slots. That would be broken even with a jam rate of 100%...can you imagine an AC/80 heavy or assault mech? *Hides in a corner.*

Do not want. ;)

Actually, I would like a .25 second gap between the two projectiles. With a lot of skill, it could still deliver both on target, or if the target was oblivious. The other thing I think UACS need is a recoil impulse where the gun gets muzzle rise, the bigger the caliber, the bigger the recoil.

That's not as bad, but 40 damage over 0.25 seconds from a 12-ton weapon is still incredibly horrifying. The recoil would have to be pretty huge to throw off a bullet fired only one-quarter of a second later.

yup. Clans are supposed to be horrifying, but there is a reason even Bryan has said they might have to rethink ClanTech implementation because it totally broke the TT, and every game it was in since.

Best way to fix the UAC20 is to fix the UAC5 now by making it do a burst of 1-damage shells. If they fire every 0.1s, then a UAC5 burst takes 0.5s, a double-tap would take a full 1.0s, a UAC20 would take 2.0s, and a double-tap would take 4.0s. 40x 1 damage hits over the course of four seconds doesn't seem all that overpowered to me, certainly less so than 2x 20 damage hits over a quarter second or less.

Well, we know we aren't gonna get micro damage bursts already. SO I am exploring purely pin point single projectile options.
