I just checked the mock-ups of the new UI and with the weapon groups that you can finally change in the mechlab client. I cant find this ( I may be blind) but I think it would be a good idea to show on which side (left or right) the weapon is located. For me I like to group weapons on one side together to let me not waste ammo on buildings etc I am hiding behind and as it is now I have to try each weapon to find which side the weapon is located.
