Has anyone ever seen going right on Canyon work out well other than both teams going right and you happening to win a cap rush? It has drastically inferior cover and a long open kill-box to walk down while the opposite direction, if they go left (or center-left) ends up on the high-ground with tons of cover.

I've currently got 220 drops on Canyon and have never seen going right work out on Assault. Has anyone else? Is there some magical trick in pug matches that lets a complete lack of cover in a narrow environment turn into a victory?

Otherwise, please don't go right. Don't do it. Ever. Go left, hope the other team foolishly went right and you can gleefully butcher them for their suicidal foolishness. Otherwise expect a dance around the center and try to avoid a base cap.

208 drops in Canyon myself, I've found that most teams tend to split between right and center. And with both teams going right, it invariably ends up that one of those teams wins. Amazing how that works.

yes, but does the team that goes right win vs the team that goes center, or does it end up in a cap rush?

Most common tactic is to secure the better ground.

ie the river side that has multiple access points to the higher plateaus with the rocky cover. From there, if you have intel on the enemies position, base rushes that result in a capture win are very hard to pull off.

We're talking about the kappa side of the map right? The side where there's an effective river?

Going the epsilon route isn't very attractive unless you're trying to ninja cap, but there are so many deathtrap/killzones and although its unlikely the enemy would engage you over there in Assault... the terrain really is that unfavorable...

People go right because people go right. If you go left, you're going to run alone into the enemy team and die instantly.

Unless you can get everyone to go left, never go left.

Of course, even if you are right, if everyone follows your advice, we'll just end up with caprushes....

It's interesting, I almost always go Right. There are a few mounds which you can either climb onto or use as a shield against the ridge to your left. From there I get a really good Sniping position that overlooks the resource collector at the end of the stream.

Go right from which base? You need to be more specific.

I have found most drops end up with a win when going right. It's how you play it. It has great coverage for missles, lots of good cresting locations, as well as good cross fire locations if the enemy goes the same way.

This is from the south base btw.

Any match should be winnable from either start point. Granted, certain bases have advantages over others... (I'm lookin' at you, Alpine), but Canyon is pretty even.

However, your title is strange. "Never go right!" - does that mean 'Always go left'? If so, both teams STILL miss each other and it STILL results in a cap rush.

Perhaps you mean 'If you see me on your team list, go left because I don't like going right'?

Right or Left, it is generally better to stay with your team. Don't be the only guy who goes left when your team goes right :).

Right from which ever base you start, or the right (East) side of the map?

Because of the human element... i rarely find anything to be a dead set good/bad thing. Your PUG team can make or break anything.
