No they're not. That's Rotary Autocannons. Ultra Autocannons are Autocannons with a two-round 'burstfire' option, or alternatively the ability to fire twice as fast, either way with a jam risk.

Autocannon - Semi-Automatic (it's in the name!) - Lolnope (it's not in the name). An autocannon has one barrel and a revolving receiver that allows for shorter time between rounds. Every time you fire an AC in BT it's supposed to hurl a burst of rounds at your target - the larger the caliber for a given AC rating, the more.

Ultra Autocannon - Semi-Automatic with Burst-Fire (or possibly variable recycle rate) - Lolnope (yes). Same as above, but bulked up to take the stress of firing faster, resulting in a chance for feed problems.

Rotary Autocannon - Fully Automatic - As all that came before it. Think M61. This is a Gatling gun with variable rates of fire.

LB-X Autocannon - Shotgun (presume the silly shot-selection rubbish remains removed) - Automatic shotgun (with optional slug ammunition).

Seriously. I've already stated that I'm talking about the weapons as they are in Mechwarrior: Online, as a parallel to standard FPS weapon categories in terms of their firing characteristics. And, for what it's worth, you're wrong on the 'canonical' "burst of rounds" thing for normal ACs, there are models that do that and models that and models that fire single shells. The single shell is simply the best way to replicate their TT firing characteristics since if they burstfired the AC/20 would be highly unlikely to do all it's damage to a single compartment (then again, MWO lasers don't). The rating is purely indicative of how much damage they do over ten seconds. Also, technically, the LB-X line are usually described as using airburst shells in TT.

Tripple Hunch FTW! ;)

That will be my future build for the Hunch once I move the Tripple A/C2s to the Shadowhawk.

Great minds on that SH

Amen. Nice to see someone able to admit the emperor had no clothes. LL was OK but it's laughable how many people act like it was the greatest thing ever, yet you never could find more than what, 70 people actually playing it?
