Currently you press 'R' and get a target. I'd like a bit more power to be selective - I think it'd be a nice sim-like aspect to add as an advanced option.
Things that'd be useful:
- Target closest enemy 'mech
- Target closest Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault 'mech
- Target target A/B/C/D...etc, possibly just as a cycle ("next target in alphabet/previous target")
- "Previous target" - particularly useful when you were tracking someone and wanted to get them pinged again when they showed up again, but need to get info from another target in the meantime.
I'd also think it'd be nice to have a secondary target window for friendly statuses, or even multiple target windows for enemies - maybe as a module or Command Console feature?

I`d like to see them, too....
But then again, the current system kind of adds to the flair of "barely functioning computer technology" that is prevalent in BT....
So the "be all you can be" gamer in me wants it, and the BT fan actually likes it the way it is now.....

I'll often leave one target locked, while firing at a secondary target that's un"Target"ted; I just keep track of the unit and location I'm firing on with energy and ballistics, while tossing LRM's in the distance.
