ARM LOCK lets you shoot up and down but not over the cliffs . STALKER>AWESOME

And side to side to deal with those fast guys IN YOUR FACE. You know, the ones that rip Stalkers to shreds all day, because a Stalker can't remotely react to them?

Awesome and stalker should not be compared, at least not for use in the same roll. Maybe hardpoints are similar, but you should never build them to do a similar play style.

Stalkers can brawl. All mine are mid/short range brawlers. if you cant shoot a light trying to get you, you put too small an engine in or suck at piloting. Sure, an Awesome has like no effort in tracking a similar target, however the awesome just isnt a brawler.

Stalker you should be in the front line. Awesome, you should be behind the stalker, and using longer range lasers or PPC to support, or in the cave of 8V or R, LURMPOCKOLYPSE to make foes wish they hadnt left the safety of the giant rock. The only one that should be in brawl range, at all, is a 9M, and even that is better at mid range.

What awesome needs to be easier for the masses to use is for the arm hit box to cover more of the side torso, and then side torso to cover more CT. then dmg would spread more, especially from missiles and the lesser talented at maneuvers wouldnt get ganked so bad in one.

Thats it really. I would like to see a chassis quirk where Awesomes get additional 10% heat dissipation for laser weapons or something, but it wouldnt be really needed if the hitbox stuff got altered slightly.

Cant say for Orion. havent tried it yet.

The Awesome 8R is one of the strongest LRM support mechs in but the issues come up with every other model of the Awesome. If they aren't going to rescale the mech then can at least add some quirk that reduces the modifier on ghost heat scaling or something.

The stalker is within something like 5 kph of the awesome but has higher mounted weapons meaning neither one is 'superior' for taking up positions one place or another. The Awesome 9M is about as Quick as a heavy but still has a massive barn-door frame that makes it easy to take blows to the torso, and if you're running it XL and trying to brawl it's going to be a rough time for. Brawlsome is all I've used it for since that's the most damage output and I've had some success but even with a 385 xl engine it could use some love to make it more viable.

I must confess that I really like the way the Awesome looks. I think it's one of the coolest chassis designs in the game.

I've mastered all of the Awesomes, some many times over. I loved them at first too, but as the meta changed and weapon balances changed, the Awesome just doesn't feel viable currently. I'm not sure what it needs to be honest.

320 or 325 engine for the -8 series.
A quirk to fire three ER(PPC) w/o ghost Heat.
CT adjustment.
Enough.

Since Awesomes are energy boats, I think they should get relaxed heat scale penalties for all energy weapons, not just PPCs.

Something about the largeass barn door frame has to increase thermal mass and improve heat dissipation, right?

The Awesome has been pitiful since it was introduced to the game. It's been that way over a year. PGI doesn't care, despite some throwaway talk about doing something to help it out. They are too busy developing new 'mech to add to the game (half of which are also crippled by poor hitboxes!) to care about fixing the old ones.
