Back before smurfy's and the current mechlab, I blew untold millions accidentally adding/removing ff, es, and DHS.

Working as intended.

I hate to say it, but I think the camouflage I bought, plus the Davion holo. I thought, mistakenly, that either one would be unlocked for all mechs, or at least, a chassis weight class. I admit, I was/am very disappointed and reluctant to invest anything more into this game as a counter balance for the time spent enjoying it.

I don't mind spending some money on software, especially a free to play as that's a reasonable exchange for the free entertainment received thus far. And after I hit about 15 - 20 hours I reasoned it was time to put some money down (~30$) to "buy" or support the game, since it's enjoyable and I had paid nothing thus far. But that kind of nickel-and-diming is, to be honest, offensive. I know TF2 has a similar pay-for-aesthetics (hats!) model, but at least you can use them across entities, and you're not throwing down 5-10$ for cosmetic upgrades that usually come standard in any other non-Facebook P2W title.

Anywho, wonderful engine, good fun, but stung by the purchase structure. Very unwilling to pay anything more to support if this is the nature of the transactions...

Had I realized how bad the grind was I should have walked away. But I picked up PP and some Premium time.
Only to find out the games matchmaker picks one side to win by a large margin.

and on top of that the grind to get cbills is crazy bad. Even with premium time and getting my shadows to master I now have 13 million credits. Considering the amount of time I put into those and on premium time there should be a lot more there.

Then to do it without premium - my if you like pain. So I got a few good hours out of it but beyond that - well a waste.

The devs dont communicate. It is obvious they dont value the players time or why reward it so shallowly. And being here for the month I have come to understand why the game is the way it is and that there isnt any real hope till at least next fall/winter.

Soooooooooooooooooo

you have 8 mechs that you can customize and there's somehow still a "grind"?
Is there some sort of magic date for next fall/winter I'm unaware of?

Accidently clicked MC when purchasing a Stalker. Goodbye 6700+ MC on a mech I hate and have subsequently sold. Real kick in the teeth is I had about 50m cbills at the time.

Accidentally bought my Jenner-F with MC. OTOH, Jenner-F! I like the D better personally, but heckuva good mech.

I'm really glad there hasn't been a Misery sale or I would have bought one before I realized I just really don't like Stalkers.

I did also buy an XL245 for the "other" Ravens before I realized that they and it are equally matched pieces of garbage. When their engine cap went up just as the (even worse but handy in that one case) XL275 came with PP, I was so happy to sell that XL245.

Yeah I found out later I could have contacted support. I was playing in the Proxis comp at the time and I needed it now!. Didn't really feel right to ask for a refund after I had used it. It's a bit like trying to get a refund on clothes after you have worn them out to dinner, you can try but it's not right, IMO. Just have to be real careful in the future. I probably would have blown it at the time converting XP to GXP anyway (and then blown GXP on the stupid Stalker levelling it up).

Well at least you're reasonable about the situation ;)

I accidentally bought a Heavy Metal while trying to get out of the mechlab to tell my brother how much MC cost.

Yeah yeah, cancel cancel cancel.

What's this new mech in my mechbay?

I didn't even bother trying to get a refund because when I had spent 3000mc on Phracken colors (removing the pattern doesn't remove the colors) and having PGI flip me the bird I figured it was my fault for having bought MC in the first place.

BTW, I like the Heavy Metal now but it took a long time for me to warm up to it.

Durring the Time i play MWO i buyed like 3x 1000MC Colors i didnt realy wanted. I put all my Hope into UI 2.0 for a more intuitive kind of Menue... a popup Window with the kind and amount of Payment your about to do would help ... i think atleast.

Beside that i dumped a good amount of C-Bills into the Mechupgrades durring the time you had to pay for them before finishing the Loadouts.

Unlike some otheres around here, i still enjoy my Founder Atlas and all Hero´s i purchased with the MC´s.
The Phoenix Pack is OK, currently leveling all the (P) Variants and sold the regular one. They are pretty fun, but it took me quite a while untill i found the Loadouts that worked for me.

Yeah I figured some one would come in with a real money purchase but did you actually buy it by mistake or did you want it and then realize that it wasn't for you? Because I could say that I made a bad purchase too (though it was cheap). I bought a Spider (the one with only 2 weapon hard points both CT) for real money. But it wasn't a mistake, PGI was selling it for half off and I had always said that if mechs were cheaper I would buy one so I did. But after playing it for a while (enough to get all the basics and 16,000 extra xp) I just couldn't take it any more (never got the screwy hitbox benefit and it would of annoyed me if I did) so I sold it. And up until a couple of weeks ago it was the only mech I had ever sold.

Well, I got the pretty baby with MC gained though my founders package. Tried it a couple times and realized how bad it sucked compared to my other mechs at the time. Sold it for c-bills. However, what I should have done was finish basicing it out so I could buy up the other models that werent so aweful. So, it could have been worse, if I had used $30 to buy it straight up...
