I see still the boards are full of unhappy Mechwarriors and I was one of them 3 months ago too! I love the Battletech universe so much however that I couldn't quit on this game, I merely just took a extended holiday and did other things.

With that said, I just came back this past weekend, installed all the stinkin' patches that I missed and gave it a run - expecting to start where I left off. I've got to say, 12 vs 12 really gave this thing some life again and even the tiny details like the new 'Ready' screen is nice. Lances start to subconciously make you work as a team, even if you don't talk to one another. Which brings me to another thing - the community has gotten a little better (based off the last 20 games I've run). 3rd person view is a nice option for those who want it - not me mind you. I personally am crossing my fingers that somewhere down the line I will be using my Oculus Rift in this game.

Will I play this thing like crazy again? Probably not at its current state, but I feel good about where things are going. Honestly, I probably overexposed it to myself and got burned out.

Things that still bug me though:
- Random screen freezes during gameplay, have to alt tab back in to unfreeze.
- Still no immersive content. I feel like a robot not a mechwarrior.
- Bryan's patch notes continue to sound like a coked up teenager. (Love ya Bryan, but just being honest)

Anyways, theres my opinion for people who may be either quiting, thinking about taking a break or just coming in for the first time. It's nice to see progress through the months.

Oh, not to say I did not get a chuckle. It is just so "old" now, it sounds more "vindictive" than humorous and shows a lack of understanding of how difficult the task the Dev face, is all.

If you were stuck on an Island, what would you do? Complain endlessly to the Sea, or build a boat and get the F* off the Island? ;)

Good thing I read this post...

I was Thiiiiiiis close (extend your hand and guestimate the distance of 1-inch between your thumb and index finger) to booking us an all-inclusive Hawaii vacation... ;)

I just came back relatively recently after being overwhelmed with tasks IRL. I can't articulate how much 12v12 is a game-changer. Initially all my instincts about how many enemies were left and what the probability of running into a blob was were DEAD WRONG, resulting in many charred and sparking wrecks.

The diversity of chassis is nice, and would be nicer if they were scaled properly.

The boating and sniping is less than it was - either that or I'm in an Elo bracket I like much better.

All things considered I'm very pleased with what they accomplished while I was gone. Looking forward to UI 2.0 and all the other goodies in the pipe.

Absolutely not... Unless of course you want to see me crawl out'a my skin. <_<

Me and crowds don't mix... Makes me wanna come out pissed and swinging... Which makes going to any heavily populated event really interesting. :(

It's that inner hermit that I struggle to suppress!

I have to say that this is almost precisely how I feel about the patch notes as well. In my head I picture him doing the "YAYYYYYYYY!" Kermit arm waving thing at the end.

I get random freezing too, its a black screen and alt tabbing doesn't work.
however once I run something that requires admin permission like my "tuneups" reg cleaner the second I hit yes my screen goes back to normal.
After playing the game I run the cleaner and not a problem till a day or 2 later.

It is a strange one.

Welcome back, things will still take some time before there is enough fluff to keep ye playing more often.
Pheonix package should bring some lolz moments but Ui2.0 is where things will START to get interesting.
Anyways nice read.
