Recently I had a game in Assault mode where time ran out when there was only me in my Raven 3L and an enemy Cicada left an the match was a Defeat for my team - reason all enemy mechs destroyed. Cicada was running away and I just got him to my sights as I cleared a hill chasing him - there were no shots fired, the Cicada only had one medium laser left. I wasn't destroyed.
Previously in a similar situation the result was a tie.
As I have understood, the game is a tie if no victory conditions are met, so I chalked this as a bug.
Has anyone else seen odd end game results in their games lately?

Was it 11:11 for score at the top? I think it decides based on this, so if one of them self-destructed from overheat/FF then it might be 10:11, in which case they win for getting more kills. I'm sure someone will correct me if I got that wrong but that is my understanding.

In Assault mode, when time runs out, the winner is the team with a higher score. Suicides count (usually) as a point for the enemy team. Depending on your game's circumstance, they would needed to have more kills (high score) than your team to win the match.
